Buffy stared at the back of his head with a dreamy smile. The guy in her class that had caught her attention the second she had seen him. He was absolutely gorgeous and charming. She tried to talk to him everyday about anything she could think of.

[name] never seemed to notice but that would all change today. Riley was sick of his friends obliviousness and decided he was going to make him make a move.

He hit that back of his head, making [name] whip his head to him with a glare. "What was that for you douche bag?!" He exclaimed, rubbing the back of his head in pain. Riley hadn't been soft.

"You are an idiot." Riley said simply.

[name] rolled his eyes and went back to reading his book. "You really just hit me so you could insult me? Remind me why I'm friends with you again?"

"Because I'm going to tell you something that's going to make you jump for joy." Riley said. "Do I have your attention?"

"I guess I'll entertain the idea." He put his book down and crossed his arms, giving Riley his full attention. "Do tell."

"Do you ever notice that a certain blonde bombshell is always staring and taking to you?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Oh, my- turn your head to the right, dumb ass." Riley snapped at him.

"No need to be a dick about it." [name] huffed at him. He turned in his seat, looking around until he spotted the only blonde in the room. He raised his eyebrows when he saw she was indeed staring at him.

She lifted her hand and waved at him with a shy smile.

"What did I tell you?" Riley laughed.

"Just because she waved at me doesn't mean she liked me. If it did, every body has a crush on me. Including you, who waved at me this morning. Do you have something you want to tell me?" He teased with a sweet smile.

"Only how much I dislike you." Riley squinted his eyes at him. "Now don't be dumb. I know that will be hard for you. If you can't see that she has the biggest crush on you then you're a lost cause and you're missing you on being with the hottest girl at this campus."

[name] looked at her again. She had moved her eyes away from him and was talking to her red headed friend. She was very beautiful and they talked all the time. He had never taken notice to whether she liked him or not.

"Get up and go talk to her." Riley demanded.

"Why are you so insistent that I go out with her?" [name] asked with annoyance.

"Because if you don't, I will but she likes you to much to go out with me." Riley admitted truthfully. "At least if you two don't work out, I'll have a chance."

"Wow." The other male was speechless. "Guess I better make sure you never have a chance with her then." He smirked and stood up, ignoring Riley's glare and walking over to Buffy's table.

Her eyes were already on him when she heard his chair squeak across the ground.

"Hey, Buffy!" He greeted enthusiastically. "Fancy seeing you here."

She blushed. "Well, I am studying... and this is the library so..." She leaned closer to him with a smile.

"Right. How stupid of me." He smiled at her back. He turned to the other girl, not being able to think of her name. "Um, you're-"

"Willow." She cut him off.

"Willow, right. Nice to see you again." He hoped forgetting Buffy's best friends name didn't ruin his chances with her.

"Is there any special reason you came over here? Or did you just want to talk to me." Buffy flirted with him.

His attention was on her and her alone. He was sure Willow didn't mind. "Little bit of both." He replied. "There's this party happening at my dorm tonight. Are you coming?"

"Of course we are. Wouldn't miss it."

"Good." He said simply and leaned away from her.

"Good?"

"Yeah. I was hoping you would come because I know I wouldn't have a good time unless you were there and I was hoping we could spend more time together."

He spoke loudly and a librarian walking past hushed him harshly. He rolled his eyes at her.

"We're spending time together now. What difference would it make tonight?" She asked him.

"I guess I'll just get straight to the point. Are you seeing anyone?" He already knew the answer but he figured he would ask anyone just for confirmation and to make sure he wasn't about to make a fool of himself.

"Nope. I am totally single. You?" She knew the answer as well.

"Totally single." He repeated her. "Maybe tonight you could be my date to the party." He suggested casually.

Buffy had to hold back her squeal of excitement. I can't believe this is finally happening. Took him long enough. "I'd love to be your date."

"Cool." He stood back up. "I guess I'll see you tonight then. Just text me when you're there and I'll meet you by the door." He leaned down to her. "I can't wait." He leaned back up and looked at the red head. "Nice seeing you again, Willow."

He turned his back and walked back to his table, sitting down in his original spot.

"You didn't just ask her out because I like her, did you? Because that is a dick move if so." Riley said seriously.

"Your words wound me." He put a hand on his heart dramatically. When he saw Riley didn't look amused at all, he huffed and shook his head. "Of course I'm not. I wouldn't of asked her out if I didn't like her."

Riley looked back down.

"You're the one who told me to so don't be upset because she said yes." He narrowed his eyes. Riley had been hoping she would say no. "Look, you're not mad at me are you? I don't want our friendship hurt because we like the same girl."

Riley fake smiled. "I'm not mad. I'm really happy she said yes." He lied. "Besides no girl could get in between us."

[name] smiled again. "Great. Me and Buffy are going on a date tonight at the party." He said. That just meant Riley would have to stay away from them.

Even though he was a tiny bit worried about his friend, he wasn't going to let that get his mood down. He had a date with Buffy Summers and that's what he was going to focus on.
