It had been two months since the time travel to the past and back again.

Peter trusted Steve and Bucky with his nightmares and that gave them the boost of confidence that they needed for finalising their decision to adopt.

They entered their apartment with 4 year old Erin, a mute girl who was abused by her birth family.

"Your room is just here."
Steve said, pushing open the door to the room.

Erin smiled slightly at them as she went into her new room.

It had been a month since Steve and Bucky adopted Erin and it was perfect.

Erin brought happiness into their lives.

Bucky had taken Erin to the park while Steve was at a meeting for a mission he was on when the incident happened.

Erin had been playing with a little boy when the boy started screaming and running away from Erin.

Bucky stood up from the bench and speed walked to where Erin was.

"Are you ok Erin?"
Bucky asked.

Erin looked up at Bucky with tears in her eyes.

She held her hands up and showed Bucky the claws coming out of her knuckles.

"Where did you get these Erin?"

"I had them all my life."
Erin signed carefully.

"Can you retract them or something?"

Erin nodded and the claws went back inside her knuckles.

"Let's go home and wait for Stevie."
Bucky said and lifted Erin up and they went home.

Steve got back from the meeting and saw Erin crying on Buckys lap.

"Hey Erin. What happened?"
He asked.

"She has claws that come out of her knuckles. Erin told me she had them all her life."
Bucky said.

"It's gonna be fine Erin."
Steve said.

The small family was in Starks lab.

"So are the claws poisonous?"
Steve asked.

"There's no poison or anything like that on the claws but they are sharp."
Tony said.

"Is there anything that we can do to make them not sharp for her safety?"
Bucky asked.

"All I can think about is just file them down or something."
Tony said.

"Will it hurt?"
Steve asked.

"No. There wasn't any indication that the claws have any pain receivers."
Tony said.

"Ok." 
Steve said.

"Thanks Tony."
Bucky said.

"Thanks."
Steve said.

"No problem."

~~~ 10 years later ~~~

Erin came home from school, tears flowing down her face.

"Erin what's wrong?"
Bucky asked, going over to his daughter.

"The claws came out today and I hurt someone."
Erin signed.

"How badly is the person hurt?"
Bucky asked.

"It was a small scratch but I still hurt them."
Erin signed.

"The person is fine Erin. Don't worry."
Bucky said. 

"But it's my fault and now everyone knows that I have claws."
Erin signed.

"It's gonna be alright Erin."
Bucky said, hugging Erin tightly.

Erin nodded and continued crying into Buckys neck.

Steve got home from the mission late at night and found Bucky and Erin sleeping on the sofa with an old movie playing on the tv.

Steve smiled softly at his husband and daughter. He carried Erin to her room and tucked her in.

"Night Erin."
Steve said and kissed her on the head.

He went back into the living room and woke Bucky up.

"Buck."
He shook Buckys shoulder.

"Yeah?"

"You and Erin fell asleep watching movies. I put her to bed."
Steve said.

"Oh ok."
Bucky got up off the sofa and went into their room and Steve followed.

They changed into jammies and climbed into bed.

"Night babe."
Bucky said.

"Night."
Steve said.

Bucky fell asleep first and then Steve fell asleep.

I swear to Loki I'm gonna chuck my phone at the wall. All of my social media accounts were already logged onto this phone apart from Messenger and Facebook. I can't delete the apps because I'm in important groups for stuff and I can't get back into my account. So that's fun.
