We spend the rest of the day resting and grieving we decide to wait till after the funeral to start planning our wedding. I'm not really the most detail oriented person so I'm kinda thinking I'll do the non traditional thing and leave all the decorating and decisions like that to Loki cause I know he is. He'll probably want everything just right.

I don't really care about color choices or flower arrangements I just want to get married. I know Loki, being the diva he is, will enjoy the tedious work of deciding on those kind of things. I'll gladly hand the power of decision to him. The only thing I really care about picking out myself is the dress.

A few days later we get word about the plans for the funeral. Thor's invited to the private visitation being he was one of the original six. It's gotta be so hard for Pepper there's no body to bury. They had looked but it was gone when they returned to the cliffside. I can't imagine having to return home and deliver the news of Tony's death to Morgan.

That poor kid deserves better than to have lost her father. She was such a sweet girl every time I'd interacted with her and this has probably broken her heart. All the members of the Avengers past and present are invited to the funeral.

We show up dressed of course in all black. Some reporters are rude enough to try asking us about our engagement. If I weren't so sad I'd be angry with them. They shouldn't even be here this is Pepper's home and today is about remembering Tony not our engagement, that can wait.

Loki looks at the reporters who are kind of crowding around us he knows I hate that as much as he does. He puts one arm around me somewhat protectively guiding me through the crowd that's far too close for my comfort. He surprisingly keeps his cool managing to not sound as pissed as I know he probably is.

"Can you give us some space?"

Some of the reporters pick up on our body language and realize they're making me extremely uncomfortable so they back off. Some reporters, typical for the press, ignore him and keep asking questions. That's not a good idea but we're almost past them and Loki manages not to loose his temper with them.

The funeral is short and the testimonies full of laughs. I didn't know him nearly as long as some of the other people here but I felt it perfectly matched his personality that laughter should be so prominent even during this somber of an event. He would have wanted that.

The funeral closes with Pepper sending a memento of an old arc reactor with the words 'PROOF THAT TONY STARK HAS A HEART' written on it floating down the river that runs past their house. The meal after is cheeseburgers his favorite food. After it's all over I feel a little better. I'll always miss him but he wouldn't want any of us to hold on to the sadness that his death brought on so I'll honor that and try to move forward.

I don't know where Loki stands with his grief but if he needs more time I'll just have to help him through it. For now I think he needs some space to sort it out for himself if he needs me he'll probably tell me but even if he doesn't tell me outright I'll be able to tell. I leave the funeral with the feeling that things will be alright eventually.
