"You ready?"
Horu kept his eye on the Dragon King as the spear-wielding Dragon nodded in confirmation. It was at that moment that the two dashed forward, each sticking to one side. The latter remained standing without so much as a care for the two approaching weaklings.
After taking a deep breath and exhaling a small flame, Tur shot his eyes open, evaded the spear thrust at him by leaning backward, simultaneously avoiding Horu's chain.
CLANG!!
The chain and the spear clashed briefly before the former retreated to its owner.
However, the Dragon King spontaneously gripped the stick of the latter before whipping his tail at the blue Dragon's lower body.
The Dragon got flung away but had just enough time to react and anchor his feet into the ground. After a brief sliding across the arena, he finally came to a halt only to receive another beating from his ruthless opponent.
Horu saw the perfect opportunity to strike as the Dragon King's attention shifted to his ally.
Nonetheless, his timing was way off.
It was the Dragon King's eyes that read Horu's movements like a book. In response to Horu's approach, the former swiftly made a 90 degrees turn and gifted the latter a successful uppercut to the stomach, causing Horu to hunch over with his eyes shot open from the impact as drool leaked from his mouth.
Tur followed with a jab to the face that delivered some serious kickback into a wall. A thick cloud of debris hid Horu from Tur's line of sight as the latter slowly approached the point of impact.
When the cloud cleared up, Horu was nowhere to be seen.
The only trace of him was a single incantation.
"Stellar Speed!"
Horu cast his first skill in the battle so far to enhance his speed by a margin. Stellar Speed was a skill he had developed on his own and was first nothing more than a technique he could barely break the sound barrier with. Horu had come a long way and endured many hardships with this skill, and now the skill allowed him to transcend the speed of light itself.
"Wow!"
"Where'd he go?!"
"The coward fled!"
"The mortal can't flee from the Black One!!"
All sorts of flabbergasted reactions spawned from the audience, however, the so-called Black Ancestor seemed unimpressed.
The alias was based on an ancient myth originating from the realm of Dragons. As Dragons were seen as high-ranked monsters the myth never got carried over to the knowledge of humans.
The Black One.
Did I read about it?
Perhaps some old myth of the Dragons...
The Demon royalty, Lily Morningstar, twitched her head when she heard of the title representing the king of the Dragons. Khavasha noticed this and cared enough to explain the myth.
"The Dragon race might seem like a brutal race but we're a religious bunch isolated from the outside world under a theocratic order. This order was established the very moment the first descendants of the Ancestors were born."
"I know now. My father possessed a significant interest in Dragons. He often said he was intrigued by their eternal bodies."
Khavasha listened attentively to the words flowing out of the princess's mouth as he observed her body language with a sharp eye focused on her.
