Death had arrived at the realm of the living.
He was the younger brother of Nyx and the second oldest of the Adversaries siblings.
This enigma owned many aliases. Yet, there were only two that were true to his name.
He was the Ruler of Souls; the Adversary of Death, Nekros.
"No need for formalities. Where is the boy? I do not sense his life energy present."
Said Nekros with a chilling voice. He was a surprisingly calm person.
Nyx pinched her eyes shut and tilted her head to the side as it hugged her hands. She wore a wide, wholesome smile on her face as she did.
"I never said anything about the boy being here."
Nyx's expression turned sinister in an instant.
Nekros gripped his scythe tighter and threatened his sister. The deity slowly walked up to Nyx and slashed the air in front of her open, whereas a tear in space had appeared.
"Do not test my patience, sister."
Nyx gazed at the shine of the scythe's chine. Inside of the reflection of light that the weapon emitted, were the infinite souls that required the scythe's power to move on to the afterlife.
But in truth, there was no such thing as an afterlife.
There was either Heaven or Hell.
Only one of these places accepted the souls that wandered from the realm of the living. And it was not the pleasant one.

Horu Sakaki and—formerly—Artemis, made their way back to the platform Horu fell off from.
"I'm so glad that you're all right. I wouldn't know what to do if you just up and died!"
Kaede said as Horu held her in his arms.
Horu owned about a quarter of the skills from the Gravity Magic skill branch.
One of those skills was Skywards; a skill that reversed the direction of one's gravitational pull. It also had a derivative skill, Heavenwards.
Like many other magic types, Gravity Magic hadn't been granted to humanity, therefore there were no mortals who'd ever even heard of it.
"I would've if you weren't there. Thanks."
"..."
Kaede pouted as she stared at Horu, who tried his hardest to look away from her.
However, her cute eyes were impossible to dodge.
Along with the mad expression she wore on her face, the pout seemed awfully cute.
"Did... I say something wrong?"
Horu said as he glanced at her.
"'Thanks'? That's what you give me? I saved your life, you know?"
She practically yelled in his ear, causing his eardrums to suffer severely.
Getting yelled at by a god at point-blank range was comparable to an explosive.
Kaede was usually a serene person. Yelling at someone was something she'd only done when she was mad. And as a goddess with unlimited power, she had no reason to be.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. But... what'd you want me to say?"
Kaede looked away for the first time as she crossed her arms. However, if Horu hadn't held her, she would've fallen.
