In a deep dungeon beneath the Manor of Chaos, the embodiment of darkness tortured a servant of light until his skin hung from his body as thousands of cuts interconnected.
"..."
Yet, the face and words of the cruelest entity in existence were not enough to make Allen Smith spill some crucial information.
His lips were shut tight as all of his teeth, and even his gums laid on the stone-cold ground painted with blood.
"What a waste. You were given all this power, yet you're still nothing but that bastard's lackey."
"..."
After staring at the boy, who stared back fiercely, Nyx began laughing. Ecstasy and delight were overpowering her maniacal laugh.
"You think I haven't uncovered your most precious secret, oh, child of Helios?"
"..."
Allen's eyes opened wide open as he twitched his messed up fingers. How long had she known? What was her real goal? What question did she want to be answered?
It was obvious.
The torturing tool Nyx used to carve into Allen's skin suddenly turned black before disintegrating in her hand. The former then walked around the latter, who was chained up in the center of the dark room.
"As you know, child of light, I am the very concept of darkness. It is only a given that your creator contradicts my very existence."
Nyx halted directly behind Allen and embraced the child of light. Even so, Allen hadn't felt a thing. It was as if her entire body wasn't there in the first place.
"An iconic rivalry, don't you think? The Light versus the Darkness. For a long time, the forces of light—or should I say... the Order of Light, has been a pain in my ass."
Nyx's body faded away like a peaceful gust of wind onto its next location, only to appear right in front of Allen.
"Constantly intercepting my plans, retaking territory in the multiverse, claiming artifacts that are supposed to be mine."
Nyx disappeared again. This time, however, her presence seemed to be spread all over the room.
"After the war, and even to this very day, Helios seems to have unfinished business with me. But such a benevolent and naive man could never stop me from getting what I want."
"And... that is?"
Allen's first words were words of curiosity. The very fact that he retained his sense of speech despite the entirety of his mouth laying on the cold floor was indeed impressive. Nyx remained silent for a while and thus continued. She was finally getting through the child.
