Double update because why not.
Also I just want to ask everyone's thoughts on Elijas humour, personally I love it, wanting to fire Rico and changing how he kills Nathan..I guess it is protective humour.
Also some of you might not like chapter 70 as it's going to time skip only about a month tho, I'm not a fan of those 10 year later skips.
Can't believe I'm on chapter 70....aiming for 100 , maybe a sequel showing 18 year old Avery...just thought of this as I'm writing and I can say for certain that there will be a sequel...maybe not as long or straight away but it's going to happen

On with the story....

Avery

I was constantly nervous the entire day, Beth,  Nathan and Alec would keep asking me if I was ok but truthfully even though I said yeah I don't think I was. Last night Elijah had agreed to go visit the orphanage and now as I walk outside the school my nerves sky rocket. Was this such a good idea?

Well it was too late now as I say goodbye to Beth I see Elijah stood waiting against his car.
My first thought was show off.

also noticed alot of people gawking at him, especially the seniors. Like I know the car is amazing and just looking at it I secretly hoped one day he would let me drive it but that isn't an excuse to stare.

Just as I approach him Miss Harris appears out of nowhere. Ugh what does she want. "Hi I'm Miss Harris, Avery's Social Sciences teacher" she introduced as she tried to bat her eye lashes. Key word being tried. "How may I help you" Elijah glanced at me then his attention was focused on Miss Harris again. She wasn't a bad teacher but she was just the type who obviously are fake. She's too positive and it's kind of sudpious, at first I thought it was just me but I asked my friends and they all agreed. "I just want to say that I'm really glad Avery is back in school she's a remarkable student when she puts her mind to it, I had her earlier today and I'm glad to see she's not daydreaming as much"  she spoke with a sickly sweet voice. I was not daydreaming, my mind had been preoccupied with Elijah being in a coma. "Well that's great I'm glad to hear that,  both Avery and I need to go as we have somewhere to be" he said his goodbyes. Finally. Before he could get in the car he turned to her.
"You should check your eye I think you have something in it, either that or you need to go to the opticians"
I couldn't help but laugh especially when I saw how red her face was. Once we entered the car and had stopped laughing he turned to me "daydreaming?"  Of course he asked, why wouldn't he. "Not really I was just preoccupied thinking about how you were pretty much dead" I reply and he looks at me with sadness "it won't  happen again"

We soon arrived at the orphanage and Eli rang the doir bell. Miss Eliza answered it and when she saw me a wicked grin appeared "I'm surprised she lasted a few months, I see you realized your mistake" she said to Elijah, obviously thinking he was returning me "bitch go wait upstairs for the punishment" she practically spat and part of me was about to do as she asked, the part that had been put through awful things. Elijah stopped me by grabbing my head and he barged past Eliza and we were inside."why are you here then"  she asked causing Elijah to roll his eyes "Avery has something to say to you " he paused and turned to me "just her or everyone" he asks and I think. They all hurt me but she was my main tormentor here "her" I whisper then turn to Eliza. "I've been in and out of here my life and you treated me worse each day. You are nothing but a abusive bitch. You thought you could abuse me till I turned 18, well you were definitely wrong. I have Elijah and he's the best parent ever. You are just a lonely psychotic woman who should belong in a tiny cell" by the end of my rant I felt Elijahs eyes on me, I couldn't help feel great when I saw the proud look in my eyes. "Why you ungrateful bitch, how dare you" she stepped forward but Elijah side stepped and stood in front of me, now being face to face with her "I suggest you show my daughter respect" and she looked like she had seen a ghost  "let's go home, I wanted her to know I have you and now that I have said that I can move on"I tell him not wanting anything to escalate. "Anything for yo" he replied and gave me a smile.

Elijahs pov

Stupid teachers, I didn't like Miss Harris and her voice seemed bitchy and fake. I was beyond proud at her words and I gave her a smile to let her know.
As we walked out I saw some of my men placed inconspicuously  around. "I want her in a cell" I say to one who I had to pass me "yes sir it will be done soon"

"Perfect, no one harms her I want her for myself" I warn. I couldn't wait to kill Eliza, she had it coming.
