Elijah
I didn't deserve her. I didn't deserve an angel like my daughter in my life. She was the best thing that had ever happened to me. Even when I didn't have I, I felt nothing but sadness when I thought of my baby girl. Now though, now she was here. I studied the drawing she did, it was unbelievably life-like. I had no doubt if she wanted she could be a professional artist.
"We should get ready to go to my parents, they said they wanted to go out for a meal" I say but my eyes don't leave the picture.
I was amazed by it, I loved it and I loved her.
"So I should wear something other than a hoodie" she asks and I smile, she was adorable.
"Sure I mean it's probably going to be a more formal place but if you want to wear a hoodie, wear one"
"Ok I'll have a look" she said. "Great, just shout if you need me, I'm going to get ready myself" I reply and she nods but before I can leave she speaks "what are you going to wear. I only ask so I don't seem homeless compared to you" I couldn't help but laugh a little "a suit, but  sweetheart you could be wearing a bin bag and I'd still be proud to call you my daughter" after speaking, she doesn't say anything instead she wraps her arms around me "thanks dad" she whispers as we hug.

Avery

Once he left I started to look for something to wear. I didn't want him to be ashamed of me, no matter how much he had reassured me.
In the end I chose a red dress that I had gotten a week or so ago when Beth had forced me to go shopping with her .

After I finished getting ready and dressed, I felt self conscious and hoped it was ok.  Maybe I should ask dad?
Before I could dwell on it further I heard s knock on my door.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear.

"Come in"
I really appreciated how dad would always knock before entering my room. "Hi sweetheart, I just came to see how long you're going to be, obviously there is no rush but we do need to be leaving soon"
"I'm almost done, is this dress okay"
He gives me a quick look over and nods "why wouldn't it be" he asks. "Beth said to get it but I think it might be a little short maybe too low cut" I say voicing my concerns. "I'm not going to lie, it is a little short but all that matters is how you feel in it sweetheart" he reassured. I looked in the mirror and after a few minutes I decided I looked good. "Well are you sticking to the dress" he asked and I nodded. "I'm proud of you sweetheart. Just remember in life it's up to you what you wear, I do appreciate you asking me for my opinion and I'll gladly give it you but it's not my decision to make"
Ok I had the best dad ever. "Now what are you thinking of doing with this hair" he asked. "I really don't know, maybe I'll put it up"  I decide not feeling like doing much with it. I grabbed the hair brush and started brushing but not even a minute later I get the brush stuck. I turn and see dad is on his phone "mum says we are going to some Italian" he says still looking down. "That's great, but I'm probably gonna look a bit stupid, the hairbrush is stuck in my hair" I reply and he looks up, hd takes one look at me and bursts out laughing. "It's not funny" I tell him and he shakes his head "sorry" he walks up to me and very carefully starts to detangle the brush. He eventually does but instead of giving the brush back, he begins to brush my hair. After a few minutes he speaks "hair tie" I hand him one and he takes it. A few minutes later he has my hair in a pony tail.

Elijah

I took a look at my daughter, she really didn't look 15 and it reminded me of all those years I missed, the most important years. I just wish I could go back in time. When she asked about her dress, of course I thought it was too short but anything shorter than her knees I will find too short, I was just being over protective. She wants to wear it so I had to let her. Besides I can certainly shoot any guy who looks at her the wrong way if I had too.  Avery deserves to wear whatever she wants and I was so proud that after everything she's been through she still feels confident enough to wear shorter clothes.
"Ready" she said and I smiled "let's go, mum decided we are going to meet at the restaurant instead"

We arrived at the restaurant, we met Max, Em and and Maisey in the car park. "Took your time didn't you" Max says with a smirk. "Traffic" I say and after a quick greeting we head inside. The plan was for us to be waiting at the table for mum and dad to arrive. Dad thinks it's just him and mum having a meal.

They arrived after 10 minutes and dad's smile grew when he saw us all. "Happy father's day" Em was the first to speak and she got up and hugged him, Maisey hugged him too then moved onto mum to great her. I looked over at Avery and she looked nervous as hell so I squeezed her hand in reassurance. Max also created them and then it was our turn. "Happy father's Day dad"  I tell him then I continue but in a whisper"Avery is a little nervous, this day has her on edge still" he gives me a questionable look so I continue. "Garrows" I whisper and his smiles fades into a glare. But he quickly covers it up "hi Avery"  and that's all it took for them to start a full conversation.

I smiled as we all took our seats. As I looked around I felt complete. This was my family. I loved them all. I had everything I want in life and nothing would change that.
