Avery left not long ago with all her friends, apparently they were going to some house party then they would be going to times square. I was beyond worried but I had to let my baby grown up. She had repeatedly reassured me that she would be fine but I sti worried. I had pulled Alexander asside and made sure he knew I didn't want her hurt. Yes I know trusting her friend to keep her safe wasnt responsible but he was all I had. I wouldn't send my men to watch her because she had to grow up normal and sadly that meant none of my men, I  was aware that Alexander's parents were training him to take over their petty gang.

(There it is everyone. The first secret that most of you probably already guessed)

My main problem with him was that I didn't want Avery involved in this life but as she grew closer to Alexander I feared the worst. I didn't want him to drag her into his work. It was stupid really, she knew I was into some dodgy stuff but this goes beyond petty crime.

I wanted her safe.

The party was going well. I mainly hung out with Xander. Beth had gone to dance with some guy, Matt and Martha were out back with some of the older kids , they invited us to join but I didn't want to drink. Alec had convinced Nathan to be his wing man after his boyfriend dumped him he was determined to find a rebound.
Xander refused to leave my side which I was kind of glad about.
"Happy birthday" he shouted over the loud music making me laugh. "Thank you" I tell him and he smiles and brings me into a hug. "You mean so much to me" he tells me or at least that's what I heard.
I hug him tighter to let him know I heard, I didn't want to say something if he actually said something else.

An hour or so past of us all having fun as a group. "Guys we should head to times square" Xander announced looking at his watch. I nod, I had wanted to see the art work for a while now.
(Apparently the billboards change to art work around midnight, not sure if this is true or not)

"Yessss lets go" Beth declared excitedly. So we all left the party to go to times square. We wasn't far off but we still took the subway as not of us wanted to walk.

Getting of the subway I felt Xander grab my hand, he looked at me to see if I was ok with it and I nodded.
"You guys are so cute" Martha called and I smiled. We weren't together but maybe some day...

"Oh yeah I saw the way you look at Matt" Xander muttered so only Martha and I heard. Her cheeks turned bright red and we laughed. "I think he probably feels the same" I tell her already planning on getting my two friends together.

We eventually found somewhere to stand.
Nathan, Beth and I  stood wrapped in a hug. Alec and Xander close by us and Matt and Martha had obviously talked as they were stood cuddling.

Nathan and Beth were my fist friends and i was happy to share this moment with them. Alec was also one of my first friends but not being as close he chose to stand away to give us a little moment to ourselves.

"Happy birthday" all 6 of my friends called as we broke apart from our little areas and group hugged.
I had the best friends and the night ended perfectly, watching a display of artwork with them all
Everything was fine. Nothing could go wrong.

After some time we parted ways. Matt, Alec, Nathan, beth and Martha went home and Xander insisted on bringing me home himself which I found sweet. On the way we stopped at a park because according to him it was the best place to talk.

So we sat on the swings at 1am with our shoes off.
"I hope you enjoyed your birthday" he said and I nodded "the best" although I didn't have anything to compare it too, not that he needed to know that. "I'm glad" he smiles. "What did you want to talk about" I ask not liking his nervousness, it must be important. "Oh nothing really, just wanted you to know how important you are" something told me that wasn't correct but I let him think I thought that and nodded.
