"A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons. God, I miss the screaming" Filch ranted to the kids, as Draco looked nervous, and Hermione clung to Carson's arm. Everyone was kinda scared at this point.

"You'll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight. He's got a little job to do inside the dark forest." Filch said, Hermione and Carson's eyes widening at the statement.

Hagrid soon appeared with a crossbow. He sniffled a bit, still sad about Norbert. He had to let him go. Filch exchanged a look with Hagrid before speaking again.

"A sorry lot this, Hagrid. Oh, good God, man, you're not still on about that bloody dragon, are you?" Filch said, rolling his eyes at the giant.

Hagrid sniffles and sighs at Filch's words. He composes himself before speaking. "Norbert's gone. Dumbledore sent him off to Romania to live in a colony." Hagrid said, breaking out into sobs again. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Carson felt bad for the friendly giant.

"Well, that's good isn't it? He'll be with his own kind." Hermione said, not reassuring Hagrid at all.

"What if he doesn't like Romania? What if the other dragons are mean to him? He's only a baby after all." Hagrid said, Filch and Draco rolling their eyes.

After Draco then protested going into the forest like a coward, the group spilt up. Ron, Hermione and Draco with Hagrid, and Carson and Harry together.

The two split off into the forest and went a separate trail. Both Hermione and Carson were very reluctant to separate, but they eventually did.

Harry and Carson set off into the woods, to find the unicorn. They were doing alright, staying out of harms way and everything until Harry fell down in pain.

"Harry! Are you alright?" Carson said, dropping down to his knees to check on his friend. He saw a shadowy figure, along with the unicorn. Whatever it was, was sucking on the unicorns blood. The figure made eye contact with Carson, and Carson immediately pulled out his wand.

"Who are you?!" He said, wand still pointed, trying to protect Harry.

The creature smiled evilly and went to cast a spell at Carson.

"Avada ke" the figure said, cut off my what appeared to be half horse, and half human. The figure slipped away, not being seen anymore.

"Carson Marshall, Harry Potter. You must leave these woods. You two are known to many creatures here. These woods are not safe for you." Firenze said, the two boys looking at each other terrified.

"What was that thing you saved Carson and I from?" Harry asked, getting back up on his feet, helped by Carson.

"A monstrous creature. It is a terrible crime to slay a unicorn. Drinking the blood of a unicorn will keep you alive even if you are an inch from death. But at a terrible price. You have slain something so pure that the moment the blood touches your lips, you will have a half-life. A cursed life." Firenze said, Carson thinking about how could possibly do such a thing.

"Voldemort...you mean that was him?" Carson said, terrified at what would've happened if Firenze hadn't shown up.

Firenze nodded, as he continued. "Do you know what is hidden in the school at this very moment?" Firenze asked, the two boys looking at each other in realization.

"The philosophers stone..." they both said, as they arrived at the edge of the forest.

"Carson!" Hermione said, rushing to envelope him in a hug. He eagerly accepted the hug and they stayed like that while Firenze said his goodbyes.

"Carson Marshall, Harry Potter, this is where I leave you. Good luck" Firenze said, going back into the depths of the forest.
