"It's you we need to worry about Harry, you can't just take anyone." Hermione told him, as they searched through the library shelves, and Hermione returned her finished books.

"And I'm assuming you two are going together?" Harry asked, motioning to Hermione and Carson.

"We're dating, why wouldn't we go together?" Carson asked, Harry shrugging his shoulders as a response.

"And you can't pick just anyone. See that girl over there. That's Romilda Vane. Rumor has it she's trying to slip you a love potion." Hermione informed him, as Harry looked at her.

Hermione snapped her fingers in front of his face. "Hey! She's only interested in you because she thinks you're the Chosen One. You know that, right?"

"But I am the Chosen One." That earned him a smack on the head with Hermione's parchment.

"Don't mess with 'Mione."

"Okay. Kidding. I'll just ask someone I like. Someone cool."

Hermione and Carson were in their dorm, both getting changed for the Christmas party. His mum had sent him dress robes to wear, and Hermione was in a light pink dress.

"You look stunning 'Mione." Carson muttered, kissing her lips.

"You look very handsome as well. Let's get going shall we?"

The couple walked to the party holding hands and talking about their Christmas plans. Hermione was going to her parents house, and Carson was going to the burrow to spend Christmas with the Weasley's and his mother. When they arrived at the party, they were met with Harry and Luna together.

The party was packed with people and the decorations were a mix of red and gold with a bit of silver. It seemed like there were more guests than just the Hogwarts students invited. Carson and Hermione entered the party and saw Neville handing out drinks.

"Drink?" He asked the couple, holding out a tray.

"Thank you Neville?" Carson thanked him, confused on why he was handing out drinks in the first place.

"I didn't make the cut for the Slug Club. It's okay. He's got Belby handing out towels in the loo." Neville explained, both of them not noticing Hermione had ran off.

"Hermione? Where did she go?" Carson asked, noticing his girlfriend was nowhere to be found.

"Don't know. Have fun at the party Carson. Hope you find her." Neville told him, before going to hand out more drinks.

Carson started to look for Hermione, soon noticing her gaze through a curtain. Carson walked over to where she was and stepped inside the small room. The room was cramped and both could barely fit.

"Hermione? What are you doing here? You just disappeared." Carson asked, as Hermione looked behind him.

"Hm? Oh, I've just escaped...I mean, left Cormac. Under the mistletoe." Hermione explained, Carson clenching his fists.

"Cormac? Cormac McLaggen?"

"Yes."

"Be right back." Carson told her, exiting the room and going off to find Cormac. Carson saw Harry enter the room where Hermione was but paid no mind to it.

When he found McLaggen, he was talking to Neville. Carson grabbed McLaggen's shoulder and pushed him to face Carson before punching him right in the jaw.

"What the hell Marshall!?"

"Don't touch my girlfriend!" Cormac scoffed at his words.

"Please, she'd be much better off with me. You've gone mental. Cruicoed too many times like Longbottoms parents." Cormac proclaimed, Carson punching him in the nose, hearing a loud crack.

This time, Cormac fought back. They both broke out into a fight, many people surrounding them. Hermione pushed her way to the front of the crowd to stop Carson, but Slughorn beat her to it.

"Boys! Break it up!" Slughorn yelled, pulling Carson off of Cormac.

"Don't touch her ever again! Don't even try it!"

"Mr. Marshall stop it this instant!"

"He's gone crazy! Someone should lock him up in St. Mungos!" Cormac shouted, Carson trying to break free of Slughorn, and now also Harry's grip.

"McLaggen that is enough!" Slughorn yelled, as Carson calmed down.

"Mr. Marshall, I have to ask you to leave the party. I will not tolerate fighting." Slughorn told him, Carson nodding.

"That's fair. Thank you for having me anyway." Carson told the professor, exiting the room as Filch dragged Malfoy inside.

"Carson what the hell was that?!" Hermione shouted, catching up to him.
"He deserved it."

"I know that but what were you thinking?!" Carson didn't answer the question and just kept walking.

"Exactly! You weren't! You weren't thinking at all!" Hermione scolded, as Carson looked guilty. He didn't regret the fight, but he ruined Hermione's night.

"Sorry for ruining your night 'Mione. I have an idea how to make it up to you if you let me?"

The two walked up to the astronomy tower, and found a blanket in the corner of the room. The two spent the rest of the night looking at the stars and talking, ending the night on a high note.
