Hermione and Carson left Hogwarts soon after the war ended and went to the safehouse. They walked up the steps to the front door, and Carson knocked. Mary opened the door, and smiled when she saw the two.

"It's over?"

"It's over mum."

Carson and Mary shared a hug, Hermione slipping inside the house looking for a certain someone. She walked through the bedrooms, seeing a small bundle tucked inside the bed, with pillows surrounding him. Hermione walked over to the bundle, and held him in her arms.

"Hi baby...mummy's back. I'm never going to leave you ever again, I promise." Hermione whispered, Steven opening his eyes to see his mother and smiled. Hermione's heart swelled up with love for her family.

Carson walked in soon after and the family had a small, but joyful reunion. Tears were shed, and smiles were on everyone's faces by the end.

The family went back to Marshall manor and got it fixed up a bit. Technically it wasn't really destroyed, just nobody had lived in it for a year so it needed some cleaning. It didn't take too long since they could easily do it with a wave of their wands.

Carson and Hermione had decided to stay in Marshall manor for a bit until they could get their own place to live. Mary was more than welcome to have them stay, since she wanted to spend time with all of them as much as possible.

Over the next few days, they went to Hogwarts to restore the castle. It wasn't very hard, but some parts couldn't be fixed with magic.

Kingsley Shacklebolt was named Minister of magic and made a deal. Anyone who had fought in the battle could be an auror without needing any training.

Ron and Harry took the offer, Carson declining. He didn't want to be an auror. Luckily for him, Professor McGonagall was going to help with the necessary skills for becoming a healer.

Carson and Hermione couldn't go back to Hogwarts, since they had a family they needed to be with. Steven was their top priority, and he always would be.

So, Professor McGonagall gave Carson different lessons that would be able to get him into a healer's position at St. Mungo's and within the next year, he was hired.

Carson was able to restore Hermione's parents memories, and they had a heartfelt reunion. They promised to keep in touch as much as possible, and went over for dinner every Sunday night.

Hermione and Carson kept their word and took care of Steven and raised him in a safe world. Voldemort was gone, the war was over, everything was peaceful. The two got married shortly after, Steven being the ring bearer. He nearly lost them, but luckily Harry and Ginny were there to keep an eye on him.

And one by one, they took their kids through the platform and they went to Hogwarts. Eventually, Hermione became the minister of magic, and Carson was head healer.

They had successful careers, fantastic friends, a loving family, and life was good for Carson and Hermione Marshall. Everything had worked out in the end, and they lived out the rest of their days as happy as can be.
