Solving the Egg

"Harry! Carson! You told me you riddled out that egg two weeks ago! The task is in two days from now!" Hermione scolded.

"Really? We had no idea." Harry responded sarcastically.

"Well sort yourselves out! I'm worried for the both of you!" Hermione said, leaving as Cedric and Krum came over.

"Marshall. May I haff a word?" Krum asked, as they went over to a deserted area.

"Haff you figured out the next task?"

"Not yet. Have you?"

"Yes. Put the egg in water and open it." Viktor told Carson, as he nodded.

"Thank you Viktor. You're a good friend."

"You too Carson, good luck."

With that, Carson ran off to get Hermione and the egg, and they made their way to the prefect bathroom. When they arrived, Carson took the egg, and shoved it and his head underwater with Hermione doing the same.

"Come seek us where our voices sound, we cannot sing above the ground. An hour long you have to look to recover what treasure we took. If you do not make it in the hour, what we took will rot forever."

Carson stuck his head out of the water with a horrified face. "Oh my god. They're going to take people..."

"In the black lake...Carson, they're going to take me. The merpeople, I'm going to be your treasure for the task. They're taking people the champions love the most."

"No! They can't! I won't let them! You'll die!"

"Carson! I have full faith that you will save me down there. They'll take me for you, Ron for Harry, Cho for Cedric, Gabrielle for Fleur and Viktor's date to the yule ball for him. Let's go to the library and learn how you can survive an hour underwater."

The two made their way to the library and learned up on the bubble head charm. Once Carson got the hang of it, he helped Harry find some Gillyweed from Neville.

"Neville! We need your help!" Carson said to the boy.

"With what?"

"Gillyweed, do you know if you can get that for Harry? For the second task?"

"I'll be sure to have it by that morning for you! Don't worry Harry!"

"Will it last an hour?"

"Yep! Either that or an hour and a half."

"Thank you Neville."

"Do you need some too Carson?"

"No, I have my plan."

"Good luck!"

With that, both boys had a way to survive underwater for an hour, now Carson just needs to save Hermione from the merpeople.
