"What a load of rubbish! You are ordering dung bombs! I mean, really!" Hermione screeched, after Harry told them what happened down in the owlery, including the parts with Cho Chang.

"Yeah. It doesn't make any sense! Why would Harry order dung bombs? You're not a prankster." Carson commented.

"Unless whoever tipped Filch off was interested in reading your mail Harry. I mean doesn't it seem a little too coincidental that Filch was tipped off when you happened to be sending a message off to Sirius?"

"Smart as always 'Mione." Carson told her, kissing her cheek as she blushed.

"Yeah. That does seem weird. You figure it's Umbridge?"

"I don't know." Hermione stated, shrugging her shoulders as Malfoy walked by.

"Hey Weasley! Nice job out on the field today! You'll be our best player on the pitch!" Malfoy jeered, as Ron groaned.

"Get bent Malfoy!" Harry shouted, as Ron shook his head and the Slytherin walked away.

"No, he's right. I'm useless out there. Complete rubbish."

"It's your first practice, don't worry about it. I wouldn't have put you on the team if you weren't any good."

"I'm gonna make a fool out of myself out there." Ron complained, as he looked unusually pale.

Suddenly, Harry gasped and held his scar. This didn't go unnoticed by Carson and Hermione though.

"Are you alright Harry?" Hermione asked, as Harry nodded.

"Yeah. The pain's just getting stronger." He said, as Carson, Hermione, and Ron exchanged glances.

Later that day, all four of the friends were sat in the common room, Carson and Hermione were cuddling on the couch and reading, Ron and Harry were sat on the couch next to them talking quietly. Hermione shut her book with a snap, making the others turn to her.

"I don't know how we're ever going to pass our O.W.L.s in defense against the dark arts without any practice! That Umbridge woman is so..." Hermione stated, trailing off at the end and going into thought

"Evil, vile, bitchy, toad- like?" Carson asked, trying to finish her sentence. Hermione shot him a look and he shut his mouth.

"We've got to do something about her."

"Well, poison should do the trick." Ron commented.

"Slip it into some of her morning tea and she'll be as outdated as her fashion style." Carson finished for Ron, the two sharing a fist bump and Harry stifling a laugh at their comment.

"Don't be silly boys. Not her, I meant her teaching. We're not going to learn anything in that class."

"Yeah. That's true. Although I do like Carson and Ron's idea."

"Anyway, I thought we should do it ourselves." Hermione told them, not taking part in their antics.

"Do what? The poison? I'm sure Fred and George could whip some up. Ron could get us a discount. Or Harry's abysmal potion skills could make some easily."

Harry glared at that statement, as Hermione shook her head at her boyfriend.

"No Carson. Defense against the dark arts. We'd teach ourselves."

"I don't know..." Harry said, nervous about the idea.

Suddenly, an owl appeared at the window, pecking at it to be let in.

"Hermes?" Ron asked, going over to let the owl in. "It's from Percy!"

"Read it!"

"Dear Ron, I'm very saddened to hear you didn't become prefect. I'm worried you'll take the Fred and George route, so please be careful. Sorry that Marshall boy stole it from you." Ron read, stopping, and looking at Carson, who was staring at the letter.

"Keep going." Carson stated, not taking his eyes off the letter.

"Given you will need to be a role model somehow, I will give you a bit of advice from one respecter of authority to another. It is likely you have been seeing a lot of Harry Potter and Carson Marshall as of late. I recommend you break ties with them as soon as possible. They may be Dumbledore's favorites, but Dumbledore may not be in charge much longer. Your loyalties should lie with the ministry of magic, not Dumbledore, Potter, and Marshall's personality cult. Please do not fear breaking ties with Potter and Marshall. If trouble arises, please go to Dolore Umbridge, a truly delightful woman. I hope you will carefully consider my advice to you Ron. Don't let the dangerous errors of Dumbledore, Potter, Marshall, and unfortunately our parents, lure you into destroying a perfectly good career. Percy." Ron read, Harry and Carson exchanging glances to each other, then to Ron.

"Well...if you want to uh, break ties with me, I'm sure I wont be too mad." Carson mumbled, as Hermione held his hand tight.

"Yeah. If you want to 'break ties' with me I won't be too violent." Harry mentioned, as Ron tore the letter in half.

"He is the world's biggest git!" Ron shouted, as he threw the letting into the fire.

"Watch it!"
