September 14th was a very special day for pureblood Carson Marshall. Today was his 11th birthday and he would be getting his Hogwarts letter.

"Mum! Dad! Todays the day! I Get my letter!" Carson shouted as he ran around Marshall Manor.

The Marshall's used to be a prominent pureblood family, but they had been deemed blood traitors because they found muggleborns fascinating and talked to others who weren't pureblood. The Marshalls thought all of that was crazy and pureblood supremacy was stupid.

Steven and Mary Marshall, Carson's mother and father came into the kitchen to see Carson waiting for them at the table. Unlike other families, they did not own a house elf. The Marshalls didn't like the whole house elf enslavement thing.

"Is it here?! Did my letter come yet?!" Carson asked immediately once he saw his parents walk into the room with the mail in hand.

"Here you go son! One Hogwarts letter." Steven said, handing his son the letter as he snatched it and quickly opened it.

As Carson opened the letter it read, "Dear Mr. Marshall. We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts' School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

"We need to go get all my things! I can get all the books and read them before I go! Please, please please?!" Carson said, begging his parents. To say he was excited was an understatement.

"The term doesn't start until next year Carson; you can wait a bit before we need to go." Mary said, putting breakfast on the table. Carson frowned at her answer but mumbled an okay before diving into breakfast.

Carson had heard all the stories from his parents about their adventures at Hogwarts. Each time they told him a story about their schooldays, it made him more excited for when he could start there and learn all about magic. Carson was really excited to learn about anything. He was a bit of a bookworm, but not too much.

After devouring breakfast, his parents told him more about their days at Hogwarts and all their friends. The Marshall's had been friends with James Potter, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin. Carson frequently saw Remus, as they were close with him. He knew what had happened to the Potters, but he doesn't know anything about Black.

After a fun filled day of birthday festivities, Carson got ready for bed and read over his letter again. He ran his finger over the writing on the letter and read the words out loud in a whisper.

"I cant wait to go to Hogwarts..." Carson said to himself, before falling asleep and ending his 11th birthday.
