With a great woosh, they fall onto the beach. Carson is lying on the floor, as Ron pulls him up and supports him. Hermione took down her charm, her bump becoming visible again. They're both holding onto Carson safely, as he looks weak and fragile.
"It's all right, Carson. You're safe. We're all safe." Hermione whispered to him, as he still looked forward with a scared expression.
Nobody responds, as they all look at Dobby, who had the dagger in his heart as he clutched his chest.
"Dobby... no..." Harry whispered, running over to the house elf. When he got to Dobby, it was too late.
"It's okay... Here... Just hold on, Dobby... I'll fix you...Hermione, your bag, you must have something! Essence of Dittany, something... Hermione! Help me!" Harry shouts, as Hermione just looked blankly, still holding onto Carson. She seemed to be in pain as well.
"Such a beautiful night... to be with friends. Dobby is happy... to be with his friend... Harry Potter..." Dobby says, his eyes closing.
Dobby gives a little shudder, then goes still. Dobby the house elf had died protecting Harry Potter.
"Guys? I think it's happening..." Hermione mentioned, her hand holding onto her stomach.
Ron rushed her up to the small cottage up the hills with Fluer, as Bill walked down to Carson and Harry.
"Fleur's seeing to Ollivander, and now Hermione. Anyone else need tending to?" Bill asked.
He eyes Harry curiously, crouched, his back turned. Then sees Dobby's limp little legs dangling lifelessly. As Luna comes up.
"Do you think we should close his eyes?" Luna asked in her dreamy voice. Luna reaches out, tenderly places her fingers upon Dobby's eyelids and closes them. "There. Now he could be sleeping."
Harry looked at her blankly, and so did Carson. She spoke up again after noticing their looks, "Harry. It's all right. That it hurts. That's what reminds us how lucky we are to be alive. And Carson, you need to go celebrate a new life with Hermione. She's in labor."
Instead of Carson saying anything, he just fell to the floor and passed out. From exhaustion, pain, and shock. It was then they all noticed his arms. He had been littered with deep cuts, and the word 'blood traitor' engraved onto his right arm, and 'Pawn' on his left.
"I want to bury him properly. Without magic. Luna, Bill, please take Carson up to the house."
The two nod and hoist Carson up, taking him inside. They placed him on the couch in the living room. He woke up an hour or two later, getting up and making his way to Hermione.
When he had arrived, Hermione was holding a bundle in her arms while Fleur walked out of the room. She looked up and smiled at him, as he walked over to her and sat down next to her. He kissed her cheek as they both looked at the sleeping baby resting on Hermione's chest.
"He's here. Steven Sirius Marshall." Hermione whispered, placing a kiss on the baby's forehead, Steven smiling in his sleep.
"I'm sorry I missed it." Carson whispered back.
"It's okay. You protected us both in the manor. You saved his life." Hermione answered, placing Steven in his arms. "You hold him, he's your son too."
As Carson held his son, he noticed something. "He looks exactly like you 'Mione." Carson whispered, trying not to wake up Steven.
"Well, he has your eyes. You'll see when he wakes up." Hermione told him, stroking Steven's cheek tenderly.
"So, are Harry and Ginny still the godparents?" Carson asked, as Hermione shook her head.
"I was thinking about Ron and Luna? Ron brought you back to me, and Luna would be a very good influence on him. Plus, Harry is Remus' son's godfather. Go get Ron and Luna."
"Will do." Carson told her, kissing Steven's forehead and returning him to Hermione.
Carson walked out to see Harry, Ron, Luna sitting on the couch. "Ron, Luna..do you want to meet your godson?"
"My what?" Ron asked, doing a double take.
"Your godson. You too Luna."
"I would love to Carson."
"Yeah, sure mate!"
Carson brought them to the room where Hermione and Steven were, as he sat back in his chair. Hermione passed Steven to Ron, as he still looked shocked.
"Really? Me? His godfather?"
"Why not? You brought me back to the group when we got separated. You're one of my best friends." Carson told him, as Ron passed Steven to Luna.
"I'm honored that you chose me, Carson, Hermione. He's really adorable." Luna said dreamily, observing the boy in her arms. "I suspect he'll want to be back with you, Hermione." Luna told her, handing him back over as Steven started to cry.
"He's hungry. If you all dont mind." Hermione stated, motioning to the door. They both exited the room and Hermione did her thing. Carson noticed as Steven was eating, he really did have his eyes.
"You were right. He does have my eyes."
"When have I ever been wrong?"
"When you thought I was dead?" Hermione death glared at him.
"Sorry." He muttered, as Hermione shook her head and brought her attention back to their son.
"What happened to your arms?" Hermione asked, seeing the scars.
"Bellatrix." Carson answered, showing her the marks on his arms.
She looked shocked at the writing, before she recomposed herself.
"Don't let those words define you. You are much more than what they think of you. You're a hero, you saved our lives." Hermione told him, motioning to herself and the baby. Carson smiled, and Hermione thought of all the ways she could kill Bellatrix for doing that to Carson.
