The four Gryffindors walked to Hagrid's hut, going to see him before the execution of Buckbeak the hippogriff. As they grow closer, they can see the executioner getting ready and sharpening his axe.
"I can't believe they're going to kill Buckbeak! It's too horrible." Hermione complained as they were walking.
"It just got worse." Harry said, looking over to see Malfoy and his goons coming their way.
"Did you see the big, fat blubbering oaf?! Oh, this is going to be rich. Did I tell you, Father said I can keep the head." Draco was telling his goons, before he saw the four Gryffindors.
"Ah! Come to see the show?" He announced as Hermione ran over to him.
"You... foul... loathsome... evil... little cockroach...!" Hermione shouted as Carson followed her. Malfoy stumbled back into a tree and Hermione had her wand pointed to his neck.
"Hermione! No!" Ron shouts, surprising both Carson and her. Ron and Hermione weren't on speaking terms.
"Hermione! He isn't worth your magic!" Carson said, walking over to her, as Malfoy was whimpering and blubbering.
"Oh, Malfoy. Who's the blubbering oaf now?" Carson spat, repeating what Malfoy had said about Hagrid before.
Hermione lowers her wand but turns back and punches him right in the face. He fell to the floor and his goons helped him back up and they run away.
"That felt good." Hermione muttered with a small smile, connecting her lips with Carson's.
"That looked awesome. Now, lets go." Carson said once they separated and connected him and Hermione's hands together.
When they arrive to Hagrid's, Hermione starts to make tea, while Hagrid is looking at Buckbeak through the window.
"Look at 'em. Loves the smell o' the trees when the wind blows..." Hagrid mused as he looked out on the sight of the Hippogriff.
"I say we set him free." Harry chimed in, Carson nodding in agreement, as Hagrid shook his head.
"They'd know I did it. And tha' would only get Dumbledore in trouble. Gonna come down, yeh know. Says he wants ter be with me when it... when it happens. Great man, Dumbledore." Hagrid mumbled.
"We'll stay with you too Hagrid." Hermione told the giant, handing out tea to everyone.
"Yeh will not! Think I wan' yeh seein' a thing like this! No. Yeh'll drink yer tea an' be off. But before yeh do -- I wan' ter see you an' Ron shake hands, Harry." Hagrid commanded, as Harry and Ron awkwardly looked at the giant.
"Thin' I haven' seen 'ow it's bin betw'n you two? Go on now..." Hagrid commanded again, as the two awkwardly shook hands.
"Good. Now then. Ron, I wan' ter see you give Hermione a hug." The giant ordered, as Carson, Hermione and Ron all said, "What?!"
"No way! Ron don't even think about touching my girlfriend! You've been nothing but rude to her all year!"
"Carson, they're making up. They're going to hug and its going to be a FRIENDLY hug. Got it?" Hagrid boomed, the two hugging awkwardly.
"Crikey, tha's jus' abou' the most pathetic hug I e'er seen. But yeh did it, an' tha's wha' matters. There's jus' one other thing..." Hagrid said, Ron cutting him off.
"I'm not kissing Fang if that's what you're thinking..." Ron said, but Hagrid showed him his dirty old rat instead.
"Scabbers! You're alive!" Ron said, as Hermione and Carson shared a glace, knowing the real truth about Scabbers the 'rat'.
"I think you owe an apology to my girlfriend Ron." Carson said, as Ron gave a sheepish smile.
"Sorry Hermione..." Ron mumbled out, Hermione just nodding her head.
"Yeh should keep a closer eye on yer pets, Ron."
Suddenly, the glass shatters from behind and a rock hits Carson right in the head.
"Ow!"
"Are you okay?!" Hermione screeched, looking his head over.
"I'm fine 'Mione. Just hurt a bit is all."
"Hagrid..." Harry chimes in, everyone looking his direction to see Dumbledore and Fudge approach, the executioner following behind.
"Yeh got to go! It's almost dark. Anyone sees yeh outside the castle it'll be trouble! Big trouble! 'Specially you, Harry and Carson!"
The door suddenly is knocked on, and the four students escape through Hagrid's pumpkin patch.
"C'mon!" Harry whisper yells to the friends.
The four hide behind a pumpkin patch, while Dumbledore greets the guests solemnly. The four watch as someone whispers, "Ssh!" and Carson turns around.
When he turned around, the tree branches were dancing oddly in the distance. Carson could've sworn someone was there.
"What is it?" Hermione asked, noticing him looking at the trees.
"Nothing. Just thought I saw something is all."
The four run into the trees looking for a different spot to hide. As the run in, they hear the axe chopping. They did it. They executed Buckbeak.
Hermione turns to Carson, tears falling. He enveloped her in a hug, and they sat on the floor, not breaking their hug as Hermione cried into him. Carson rubbed her back until their attention was diverted elsewhere.
"He bit me!" Ron shouted, as Scabbers desperately tried to break out of his grip. Ron struggled a bit, but the rat got away and ran off, Ron following him.
"Ron! No!" Harry shouted, as the rest ran after him.
They gave chase after Ron, and they ended up at the whomping willow tree. Ron caught scabbers and held him tightly, right in front of the tree.
"Harry. Carson. You do realize what tree this is..." Hermione whispered, as Ron was talking to his rat.
"Now behave yourself Scabbers."
"That's not good." Carson stated, seeing Ron under the tree.
