The Boy Who Fought: OC X Hermione

Summary of Second Year

In the golden quartet's second year of Hogwarts, the chamber of secrets was opened. Hermione got petrified, the basilisk targeting muggleborns at the time. Carson was heartbroken over the news and rarely left her side. When he did, he was eager to solve the mystery of who the heir was to get Hermione back.

Hermione and Carson had become even closer over their second year, both person's crushes on each other growing more and more. They had become closer in other ways as well. Hand holding was more frequent between the two and they could often finish each other's thoughts. Carson still thought Hermione was the smartest person he knew and continued to surprise him when she had found out who the heir was before she was petrified, and how she wouldn't be killed.

Harry, Ron, and Carson had become closer as well. Harry and Carson bonded over the trauma they shared over Quirrell/Voldemort. In the chamber of secrets, they had dueled Voldemort again, Carson being bitten by the snake before being healed by Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix. Carson was still pretty traumatized from first years encounter, and now second years.

When Hermione came back, the first thing she did was tackle her best friend in a hug. They both didn't want to let each other go in that moment. That was when Carson knew he was going to ask her out. He never wanted to be separated from Hermione ever again. The question was, when was he going to do it?

Carson had decided when they meet up again for third year he would ask her. They were meeting up at the Leaky Cauldron, so he would go get ice cream with her, and then ask her to be his girlfriend. He was very confident she would say yes.

On the other hand, over the summer Sirius Black had escaped Azkaban. Carson's parents had told him, and he vowed to be responsible and careful at all times, since the rumors were that Sirius was coming after Harry and him. Carson had also promised he would protect Harry as well.

Now, Carson had just arrived to the Leaky Cauldron and checked in. Hermione wouldn't be here until tomorrow, so his only company were the Weasley family. Carson was excited to see them again, they had gone to Egypt over the summer so he couldn't visit the Burrow and see them.

Tomorrow was the fateful day, where hopefully Hermione would say yes to Carson being her boyfriend. All he had to do was ask. Nothing could go wrong. He was sure of it.
