Once the quartet had figured out Snape was going to steal the stone tonight, they set off down the trapdoor. The four had arrived to the third floor, after body binding Neville, who had tried to stop them so Gryffindor wouldn't get in trouble and lose more points.
They opened the door to the room where the three headed dog was, and noticed he was asleep.
"Who wants to go down first? Hermione?" Ron said, trying to avoid going first. Hermione promptly shook her head no.
"I will. I'll let you guys know if it's safe." Carson said, stepping over the dog and jumping down the trapdoor.
"It's safe! You can drop down! There's vines to catch you!" Carson said, the other three following behind.
"Whew! Lucky this plant thing caught us!" Ron said, sighing in relief. Carson tried to speak again but was choking on the vine. It was pulling against his neck, ultimately choking him.
"Carson!" Harry said, afraid for his friend who was being swallowed by the vines. Carson kept struggling, trying to get out of the plants vice like grip on his neck.
"Hermione do something! You must know something! Carson thinks you know absolutely everything!" Ron said, hoping Hermione could help.
Hermione was gone however, she had fell through the plants and was at the bottom of the room.
"Just relax! It's devils snare! You have to relax!" Hermione said, the boys protesting. They didn't want to be swallowed by the vines.
Harry had dropped down, listening to Hermione. Ron and Carson were still there, Carson running out of air.
"You're a bloody witch! DO SOMETHING!" Ron said, getting more and more scared. He probably should've listened to Hermione.
"Lumos solem!" Hermione said, a streak of light shining through the plants and the two stubborn boys fell through. Carson broke Ron's fall.
Carson tried to catch his breath, after nearly running out of air, as he did however, he kept coughing. Hermione was first to rush to his side and help him.
The four moved through to the next room, finding a graveyard looking room.
"Is this a graveyard?" Harry asked, confused on why there would be one.
"Nope. It's a chessboard. We have to play to get across." Ron said, if he had a talent it was wizards chess.
The four took their spots, Ron as a knight, Harry as a bishop, Carson as the king, and Hermione being the queen. Carson had a suspicion as to why Ron had made his and Hermione's pieces theirs.
They played their way across the board, Ron ending up having to sacrifice himself. The three were sad to have their friend do that, but it was needed.
Hermione stayed back with Ron, having Carson and Harry keep going.
"Please be careful!" Hermione said before they left.
"We will. You're a great witch Hermione, I'm not nearly as good as you." Carson said to the bushy haired girl.
"Me? Books and cleverness. There are more important things, like friendship!" She said, hugging Carson, ignoring Harry. Harry stood their awkwardly, letting the friends enjoy their moment.
Once the two spilt apart, Carson and Harry made their way into the final room to be met with an unlikely sight.
It wasn't Voldemort. It wasn't Snape. But it was none other than Hogwarts very own defense against the dark arts professor, Professor Quirrell.
(A/N: I rushed ahead a bit since I want first year to be done so very sorry if this chapter wasn't as detailed, the others might be a bit better though. They might be less detailed still since I want to get it over with, but the general gist will still be there. Thank you for reading!)
