"Hello Harry, Carson." Black said, in a croaky voice, like he hadn't used in in years.

Carson moved in front of Hermione protectively as him and Harry pointed their wands at him.

"If you want to kill Harry and Carson, you'll have to kill us too!" Ron said, brandishing his wand and standing with them, on his broken leg.

"Only one will die tonight." Black said, looking at all four of them.

"Which one?! Going to have Carson do the dirty work for you?" Harry asked, while still pointing his wand out.

"Carson? Why would I have him do it? He has no involvement in this." Black said, looking at Carson.

Just as Carson was about to answer, footsteps sounded out. Black looked at the door warily, before turning back to Harry, finding his eyes were already on him.

"Going to kill me Harry?"

"Yes."

As Harry gets ready to fire a spell, the door bursts open to reveal Professor Lupin.

"Professor Lupin?" All four students asked, as Lupin eyed Black suspiciously.

"Looking a bit ragged, aren't we, Sirius? Finally, the skin reflects the madness within." Lupin said, still looking at Black intently.

"You'd know all about the madness within, wouldn't you, Remus?" Black said, as Lupin goes to embrace Black like a brother.

"No! I trusted you! I covered up for you. And all this time you've been his friend!" Hermione said, feeling betrayed by the DADA professor.

"He's a werewolf! That's why he's been missing classes!" Hermione shouted, pointing an accusatory finger at professor Lupin.

The three boys stare at Professor Lupin dumbfounded, as Black let out a howl. Lupin glared at Black and turned back to Hermione.

"How long have you known?"

"Since Professor Snape set the essay."

"You're the brightest witch of your age I've ever met, Hermione." The professor praised, as Hermione kept her glare. If the professor hadn't been working with Black, she would've taken the praise.

"She really is." Carson said, smiling at Hermione.

"Yes, you glow like the sun. And you howl at the moon. Enough talk! He dies. Now. If you won't do it with me, Remus, I'll do it alone." Black shouted, interrupting their conversation.

"Sirius wait!"

"I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In Azkaban! Trust me, you wouldn't have lasted a week!" Black shouted, scaring the four students.

"All right then. As you wish..."

"No!"

Harry raised his wand back to Black and Lupin, and with a flick of the wrist, disarms the three with their wands out. Lucky for Carson, he had his still with him.

"You betrayed my parents! You sold them to Voldemort!"

"It's a lie! I never would've betrayed James and Lily!"

"Harry! You've got to listen!" Lupin yelled, Harry ignoring him.

"Did he listen! When my mother was dying! Did he hear her screaming!"

"No! I wasn't there! And I'll regret it the rest of my life!" Black yelled, with pain in his eyes. Harry stopped yelling, and professor Lupin started talking.

"Someone else betrayed your parents, Harry. Someone in this room right now. Someone who, until quite recently, I believed to be dead." Professor Lupin explained, Carson and Hermione's eyes going to the rat in Ron's hands.

"He's as good as dead." Black said, looking at Lupin.

"What're you talking about? There's nobody here." Harry said, looking around the room.

"Um, Harry actually there is. I figured it out that night when we got caught by Snape after seeing Pettigrew's name. Pettigrew is Scabbers, that's why he's lived so long." Carson explained, Sirius and Remus smiling at him.

"Carson is correct Harry." Professor Lupin explained.

"Wait...if he's the rat. He must've sold Harry's parents out! That's why he's been hiding! Cause if he came out of hiding, Sirius would be innocent!" Carson explained, Hermione giving him a proud smile and connected their hands.

"Correct. Now Ron if you could just give me that rat." Sirius said, looking at Ron.

"No! He's not Peter! He's scabbers!" Ron shouted, hiding his rat away from them.

Sirius gets ready to raise his wand at the rat, when suddenly. "Expelliarmus!"

Everyone looked to see that the person who disarmed Black, was Professor Snape.

"Ah, vengeance is sweet. How I hoped I'd be the one to catch you." Snape sneered, with a wicked smile on his face.

"Severus.." Lupin tried to explain, but Snape stopped him.

"I told Dumbledore you were helping your old friend into the castle. And here's the proof." Snape grinned at Lupin, happy he thought he was right.

"Brilliant! And -- as usual -- dead wrong. Now give us our wands back. Remus and I have a bit of unfinished business to tend to." Sirius said, eyeing the rat in the corner of the room.

Snape approached Black and shove his wand into his neck.

"Give me a reason. I beg you." Snape yelled, twirling the wand against Black's neck.

"Don't be a fool, Severus!"

"He can't help it. It's habit by now." Black said, as Carson grinned. He had to admit, Sirius was right.

"Quiet, Sirius!" Lupin shushed him.

"Listen to you two. Quarreling like an old married couple. The creature and the criminal." Snape berated as he clicked his tongue.

"Piss of Snape." Sirius said, growing angry.

"Witty as ever I see. Tell me, will you be so irreverent when I turn you over to the Dementors?" Snape asked, as Blac's eyes widened in fear. "Do I detect a flicker of fear? One can only imagine what it must be like to endure the Dementor's Kiss. It's said to be unbearable to witness. But I'll do my best." Snape's eyed harden and he takes his wand out of Black's neck.
