Brooke's POV
Skye, Steve, Pony and I headed back home after our double date. It was pretty enjoyable. Pony and Steve paid for our tickets. It was probably one of the only times I hadn't snuck in and not paid. I also saw Steve and Skye kiss a few times. They look so adorable together. I'm happy for her.

When we got home, everyone was there, along with Dal. He wasn't the number one person I want to see right now. I stuck closer to Pony.

My brother motioned for us to sit down. "I spoke to Shepard today" he informed.

"Buck told me" I said coldly, not caring if he caught my drift of tone. If he did, he ignored it as he continued to speak.

"I have some thoughts on the rumble" he said.

"What are you thinking?" Twobit asked as he put an arm around Skye.

"Shepard said the word is that those rich broads are planning on bringing weapons" Dal said. Skye and I shared a look immediately.

"So your implying that we bring weapons?" Skye asks.

Dal nods "damn straight"

"What kind of weapons? Blades?" I question.

"Blades" Dal nods.

"What about brass knuckles?" Skye questions.
I know my brother has some, along with Steve I believe.

"Couldn't hurt" Steve shrugs "don't doubt that they'll be bringing some" he says.

"Does that mean we'll have to go talk to the girls about bringing weapons as well?" I ask.

"Nah. Tim said he'd talk to his sister, she'll spread the word to brumley" Dal explains. I nod.

"You sure about this?" Darry asked seriously, looking to Dal.

"Ya. Everyone knew the socs wanted to bring weapons, doesn't surprise me that they'll play dirty and blind side em" Dal says. Darry nods.
I rest my head against Pony's shoulder and sigh. This is gonna be one hell of a rumble.

Dal's POV
When Skye, Brooke, Pony, and Steve got home from their double date, I motioned em all to sit down. I saw my sister glare at me but sat anyways.

"I spoke to Shepard today" I said.

"Buck told me" Brooke said coldly. I knew I probably shouldn't have left her there alone, and to walk here alone, but I had shit to do.

"I have some thoughts on the rumble" I ignored her.

"What are you thinking?" Twobit asked as he put an arm around Skye.

"Shepard said the word is that those rich broads are planning on bringing weapons" I in-formed.

"So your implying that we bring weapons?" Skye asks.

I nod "damn straight"

"What kind of weapons? Blades?" Brooke questions. That was the first time I heard her talk normal towards me in a while.

"Blades" I nod.

"What about brass knuckles?" Skye questions.

"Couldn't hurt" Steve shrugs "don't doubt that they'll be bringing some" he says.

"Does that mean we'll have to go talk to the girls about bringing weapons as well?" My sister asks.

"Nah. Tim said he'd talk to his sister, she'll spread the word to brumley" I explain as she nods.

"You sure about this?" Darry asked being serious, looking to me.

"Ya. Everyone knew the socs wanted to bring weapons, doesn't surprise me that they'll play dirty and blind side em" I say. Darry nods.

I get up and walk into the kitchen for a beer. I open the fridge and grab one as I popped the lid off and onto the counter. As I take a sip, Darry walks in.

"Dal" he says in a serious tone.

"What" I say as I take another sip. I remembered Brooke hated me drinking, but it ain't like I'm getting rip roaring drunk. Plus, it ain't like she's my mother.

"One, you know your sister hates when you drink"-he motions to my beer bottle-"second, you let Brooke walk here alone this morning" he says, more of a fact then a question.

I sigh and put the bottle down. "Ya..and" I said.

"And, did you forgot the rumble isn't over yet. We still got socs on our back, meaning the rules of 'make sure you have one the gang with you' still applies for now" Darry explains.

"Well I had shit to do...like talk to Shepard about the rumble" I say.

"Doesn't matter. The last thing we need is one of the girls-or anyone getting jumped" was all he said before leaving.

Fuck I thought. Maybe I shouldn't have gone with Shepard today? But then again, we wouldn't have known about the weapons.

I looked back out into the living room to see Brooke resting her head on Pony's shoulder. Part of me wanted to go brush the kid away from her, the other part of me was happy she had someone there for her...because I know I never was and never am.
