Noon
[FreshMart Grocery]
*Jo walked into the break room, ready to start her shift. She saw Tucker playing a video game on his travel size nintendo.*
Jo: You... are an idiot.
*He put it away.*
Tucker: You know, for someone who claims I'm so mean, I sure do show a lot more interest in you than you do in me.
Jo: What does that mean?
Tucker: It means, *he stood up* It means that you are just as mean to me, as I am to you.
Jo: That's so not true.
Tucker: Oh, but it is. You are constantly belittling me, and making faces at what I say.
Jo: That's because you say stupid stuff.
*He gave her a face.*
Jo: Sorry. Go on.
Tucker: Do you treat your friends the way you treat me?
Jo: Of course not. I'm actually nice to my friends.
Tucker: And my point has been made.
*Jo gasped.*
Jo: Oh my gosh! I AM mean to you.
Tucler: It's okay, I forgive you.
Jo: Oh I'm not apologizing. Just coming to terms with it.
*She gave him a sarcastic smile.*
Tucker: I probably deserved it anyway.
Jo: Where it started.
*She grabbed her apron and walked outside to her aisle. He followed.*
Tucker: You know, just because-
Jo: What are you doing?
Tucker: Working.
Jo: Following me.
Tucker: I was on break.
*She turned around.*
Jo: You're right. You do show more interest in me.
*She kept walking.*
Jo: Hi, I can help you over here.
*A customer walked over, and Jo started to check out the items.*
Tucker: Alright, fine. But when are we going to talk about the kiss?
*Jo's heart dropped.*
Jo: ... What?
Tucker: That's right. You kissed me in my bedroom right before I left for Maine.
Jo: *embarrassed* I know. But you kissed me right back.
Tucker: I know that, too.
*The customer made a weird face.*
Jo: Okay then.
Tucker: Are we going to talk about it?
Jo: Nothing to talk about. You kissed me, and you left. You still left.
Tucker: Jo, you know I had-
Jo: And even after that, you never called me. You never answered my texts, you never reached out. You never did anything. So yeah, maybe for a split second I thought we could work. And maybe for a split second I had the tiniest amount of interest in you. But then I never heard from you again. Which told me exactly where we stood. So no, we don't need to talk about it. It's already perfectly clear.
*Tucker didn't know how to respond.*
Jo: There you go, ma'am!
*She handed the bagged food items to the customer.*
