S1E10: Clues

3AM
[Nathan and Steven's house]
*Nancy fell through Nathan's bedroom window, as Nathan watched her, lying across his bed.*

Nancy: Aahhh!

Nathan: Sshhh!

Nancy: Sorry.

Nathan: You know, you can come in through the door, right?

Nancy: And risk being caught by Steven?

Nathan: It's 3AM! He's asleep!

Nancy: You never know.

Nathan: No, I think you just think it's fun crawling through the window every night.

Nancy: Okay, maybe.

*They both chuckled as she sat on the bed.*

Nathan: Is it weird not telling Steven?

Nancy: Yes! So weird. Is it for you?

Nathan: Very. I mean, I tell him everything.

Nancy: Me too! I keep wanting to tell him about you but I remember I can't.

Nathan: Do you want to?

Nancy: No! I mean, do you want to? I thought we weren't ready.

Nathan: We aren't. I'm not. It would be nice for everyone to just know already, but I can't deal with the process of telling them.

Nancy: I know, I don't want to mess anything up.

Nathan: And even if we wanted to tell them, it wouldn't be easy or perfect.

Nancy: I know. Jo would never speak to us again.

Nathan: I know, and Steven.

Nancy: Hey, you said the same thing last week. Why?

*Nathan quickly caught himself.*

Nathan: Uhh... just because he would be mad that we didn't tell him sooner!

Nancy: Oh, right. That makes sense. I'm going to get water. Do you want something?

Nathan: Just a water.

Nancy: Okay.

*She walked out of Nathan's room and tiptoed to the kitchen. She reached inside the fridge and grabbed two bottles of water. As soon as she turned around, she spotted Steven staring directly at her, sitting in a chair in the dining room. She was startled.*

Nancy: Steven!!

Steven: Nancy? What are you doing here?

*She stuttered.*

Nancy: I... I'm not.

Steven: Yes you are, you're standing right there.

Nancy: Okay, Mr. Technical! I'm uh... Well I... I'm here for you!

Steven: For me?

Nancy: Yeah! You know how the other... week you asked me to have a sleepover at 3 in the morning?

Steven: I did?

Nancy: Yes! Now, I thought it was weird at first but you begged me so... here I am!

Steven: I seriously don't remember-

Nancy: Oh, sweetie you're just sleep deprived! Yeah!

Steven: Okay, well I guess since you're here, let's go! What do you want to do first?

Nancy: Ooooh, sorry, yeah I think I'm going to head home now.

Steven: But you said-

Nancy: K bye!
