4 MONTHS LATER, MAY
[backstage]
*Crowds roared through the stadium. Lights flashed everywhere. Heels walked backstage towards a small flight of steps. The heels walked up the steps, making a clicking noise every time they hit the floor. The woman wearing the heels was raised through the ceiling, which now became the floor to the stage. The crowds got louder when they saw her body rise up. She raised the microphone to her lips.*
Nancy: Hello, Paris.
After The Show
[a car]
*Nancy was in the backseat of a car riding to her hotel in Paris, France. She noticed him driving the wrong way and she began to feel a little creeped out.*
Nancy: Um... excuse me? Is this the right way?
Driver: Yes, ma'am.
*Nancy always put her hotel in her maps on her phone just to make sure she wasn't about to be kidnapped in a foreign country. Yes, she was a little paranoid. But not until now when it was actually happening.*
Nancy: It's just- the directions say my hotel is on Rue Montorgueil.
Driver: I get new directions to take you to new hotel.
Nancy: *creeped out* O-okay.
*After a little drive, the driver pulled up in front of a much nicer hotel than the ones she's been staying at.*
Nancy: Are you sure this is the right hotel?
*When she turned around to ask the driver, he had already driven away. Her bags were sitting next to her on the pavement.*
Bellboy: This way, ma'am.
*After Nancy walked to her room, the bellboy left her bags outside the room on the baggage carousel. She stepped into the pitch black room, and she heard the door slam behind her. Startled, she inhaled sharply. Her fingers looked for the light switch on the wall, as the tension rose. Her heartbeat gained speed by the second. Until she finally flipped the switch on and the room became clear. Rose petals on the bed, candles. But Nancy's eyes and focus immediately were set on the man standing in the middle of the room. Nancy's heartbeat slowed down and she felt a huge sense of comfort. Because it was Nathan. He smiled and so did she. Her eyes barely teary, she walked over to him and hugged him. He hugged back. They both missed each other so much.*
Later
[the hotel room]
*Nancy and Nathan lay sideways on the bed, talking and eating strawberries.*
Nathan: So you're really liking it, huh?
Nancy: Oh my gosh. It's amazing. It's like- I know who I am when I'm home, in LA. I'm... me. But when I'm performing an album that I wrote, in a whole other country, it's like I'm a different person. But I'm still me. I don't know.
Nathan: I know. I get it.
Nancy: But what about you, how's it going with Jamie and all?
Nathan: Great, great. He's walking.
Nancy: Wow.
Nathan: Talking a little bit, too.
Nancy: Aww.
Nathan: It's been great. But... I miss you a lot.
Nancy: I miss you, too. More than anything.
Nathan: You know, this has been a lot harder than I thought it would be.
Nancy: For me, too. Some nights I go to bed thinking I'm okay. Others I go to bed crying because I just want to be home. And other nights, I fall asleep before my head hits the pillow because I'm tired from a show.
Nathan: You had a show tonight, didn't you?
Nancy: Yeah.
Nathan: Are you tired? Do you want to sleep?
Nancy: You're only here for one night. Nothing could make me too tired not to want to be with you.
*They leaned in and kissed each other. She laid down on the bed and he rolled on top of her.*
The Next Day
[Flaunt Headquarters]
*Jo was working at Flaunt for Aaron as his assistant. When she got the job, she thought she'd assist him in writing. But... nope. She walked up to him in a meeting and handed him a white mug.*
Jo: Here's your coffee.
*Aaron didn't reply. He took the coffee and continued his meeting. Jo walked out to wait in his office for him when the meeting was over.*
*After the meeting, Aaron walked into his office and Jo stood up to greet him.*
Aaron: Hello Jo.
Jo: Hi. How was your meeting?
Aaron: Fine. Boring.
Jo: Listen Aaron, I've been meaning to talk to you. I mean, I know you hired me, and for that I'm incredibly grateful. However, do you know of any open positions in... a higher... status? Perhaps one that involves writing?
Aaron: You mean... you don't want to work for me anymore?
Jo: No, I- of course I do! It's just... I want to write. And-
Aaron: Listen, Jo. You're lucky you even have this job. You didn't go to college for writing. You have nothing to bring to Flaunt. Don't be naive. You can't make your way up to the top that easily.
*His words made Jo emotional. But she knew he was right, so she hid her feelings.*
Jo: Right. Sorry.
That Night
[Jo and Tucker's house]
*Jo walked through the door, tired. She dropped her bags on the floor and kicked off her shoes as Tucker ran though the bedroom doors.*
Tucker: How's my Flaunt girl!
*He picked her up and spun her around.*
Jo: I'm good now.
Tucker: What, you weren't good before?
Jo: No, I'm good. Really.
Tucker: I miss not having you around all day.
Jo: Believe me, I miss it too.
Tucker: I got you those today.
*He pointed to the kitchen table, we're a vase of flowers sat. She smiled.*
Jo: They're beautiful.
Tucker: Just like you.
*He kissed her on the nose.*
That Same Time
[Steven and Blake's house]
*Steven walked through the front doors and Blake was standing there.*
Steven: Hey Bla-
Blake: Will you marry me?
Steven: What?
Blake: I know that we've only been together for a year or something but... I feel it. You're the one. And I know you feel it too. And I know it's completely untraditional for the girl to propose to the boy, but this was all planned. Look, I even got you a ring. I thought long and hard of how I would ask you but I realized the only thing that matters is... us. So, what do you say?
Steven: I say yes.
*Blake laughed and happy years fell down her cheeks. They hugged.*
Steven: Let me see this ring.
Blake: We don't have to put it on til the wedding, I just thought it would be a cool gesture.
*Steven laughed.*
Steven: It's perfect.
*They kissed.*
