S1E8: The Fair Pt.2

The Fair
*After spending a long day of fun, Nathan has just struggled to ask Nancy to be his girlfriend.*

Nancy: Nathan, I'd love to be your girlfriend.

Nathan: It's okay... wait, really?!

Nancy: Hehe, yes! I'm crazy about you!

Nathan: I'd love to kiss you now but i'm afraid of paparazzi and-

*She shook her head, grabbed his shirt, and pulled him in for a kiss.*

Nathan: Wow... okay, cool. Is that your new way of shutting me up?

Nancy: Better get used to it, baby!

*She slowly walked away, while still looking back at him. When she turned her head, she saw the rest of the gang. Luckily, they didn't see the kiss.*

Nancy: *in shock* Jo!

Jo: Oh, hey guys!

Nina: What's up, you two?

Nathan: Hi!

Hallie: Why are you guys here before us?

Nancy: Oh well I was here with some other friends first... oh shoot! I completely forgot about them.

Hallie: Nathan?

Nathan: Uhhh-

Steven: Yeah, dude, what was that phone call about?

Nina: What phone call?

Steven: Nathan called me-

Nathan: I just got here. I thought we were all meeting here. And I called earlier because I wanted to drop something off at her apartment, that's all.

Nathan: But you said-

Nancy: Oh, right! Wasn't it that thing that you borrowed from me?

*Everyone looked confused.*

Nancy: You know, the thing, with the stuff?

Nathan: Right! Yes, I needed to drop off the thing with the stuff.

Hallie: And who's stuffed narwhal is that, Nancy?

Nancy: This? Oh, this... this is mine. I won it... for me.

Hallie: Hhmm. Okay.

Fan: Omg! I am such a huge fan! Can I have a picture with you guys?

Nancy: Awh, sure!

Nathan: What's your name, sweetheart?

Fan: Maryanne!

Steven: That's so pretty!

Nina: Do you want to take a selfie, or should we ask someone to take it?

Fan: Mommy! Mommy!

Fan's mom: Oh... my goodness, my little girl talks about you six night and day!

Nancy: That is so sweet!

*They huddled into a group and smiled.*

Fan's mom: Everyone smile!

Fan: Cheeeeeeeese!

Fan's mom: Adorable!

Fan: Thank you!

Steven: Bye!

Nancy: She was sweet!

Nathan: Yeah, a real cutie.

Later
[The Fair]
*They all walked out of a roller coaster. Most of them had fun, but Nina was horrified.*

Nina: I did not like that one.

Steven: Yeah, the part where you almost puked didn't bone well for the rest of us, either.

Nina: Well excuse me, what kind of a ride puts a drop and a loop in one roller coaster?!

*Jo put her hand on Nina's shoulder.*

Jo: Lot's of them.

Steven: You guys about ready to head out?

Nina: Yes please.

Hallie: We all carpooled, except you guys.

*She stared at Nancy and Nathan.*

Nancy: Yeah, kinda drove myself. But it's okay! I really don't mind driving alone!

Jo: You good too, Nate?

Nathan: Yeah! Except I ubered so I wouldn't have to deal with parking here.

Jo: Oh, well we don't really have much room in my car, or else I'd drive you home.

Nancy: I can take him! Afterall, I've got an empty car.

Nina: Okay.

*She smiled at Nathan, and he smiled back. They all walked out of the fair and into the parking lot.*

Jo: Thanks for an amazing day guys!

Hallie: It really was, wasn't it?

Nina: All except that last ride-

Jo: Enough Nina! laughing*

Steven: See you at home, Nate.

*Nancy and Nathan awkwardly stood there as they watched everyone else pile into Jo's car and drive off. As soon as they were in the clear, Nancy slowly stepped closer to Nathan. She pecked him on the cheek, almost to distract him, as she quickly called the best spot in the car.*

Nancy: I call shotgun!

Nathan: Awh, what?

Nancy: *Evilly* Haha!

Nathan: Fine, whatever. You know, the driver is the DJ.

Nancy: What, so not true! Everyone knows it's shotgun.

Nathan: Oh really?

Nancy: Yeah!

Nathan: Really?

Nancy: Yeah!

Nathan: We'll see about that!

*Nathan and Nancy got in the car, and closed the door. Then, they drove away.*

After the drive home from the fair
[Nathan's driveway, in the car]

Nathan: This is my stop.

Nancy: Sadly.

Nathan: Awh, I know, I want to be with you too. But Steven will get suspicious.

Nancy: More than he already is?

Nathan: Ugh, I know. We are terrible at hiding our relationship.

Nancy: I know. I wish we didn't have to.

Nathan: Me too. I just can't deal with telling all of them right now.

Nancy: Me neither, trust me. Plus, it'll kill Jo.

Nathan: Yeah. I almost feel bad.

Nancy: I definitely feel bad.

Nathan: Alright, seriously, I have to go.

Nancy: I know.

Nathan: *leaning in* Seriously.

Nancy: *leaning in* I know, it's a real bummer.

Nathan: Such a shame.

*They kissed as Nathan put his arm on her cheek.*

Nathan: I'll see you tomorrow.

Nancy: *complaining* That's so many hours.

Nathan: Alright, I'll call you tonight.

Nancy: Much better. *She smiled*

*Nathan stepped out of the car as he shut the door. Nancy stayed there and watched as he walked up to the door and went inside. When he closed it, she still stayed. She smiled, contently, knowing it was the start of something amazing.*
