Morning
[Nathan and Kristina's house]
*Keys jangled, opening the front door to Nathan's dump. Oops! I meant to say Nathan's house. Jo had just bailed him out of jail and the first thing they did was go back to his place. They stepped inside and Jo looked around at the pit of depression.*

Nathan: So... this is it.

Jo: It's... nice. It's got a cool rugged vibe.

Nathan: You don't have to lie, Jo.

Jo: You're living here with Kristina?

Nathan: Kristina and Jamie.

Jo: Where are they?

Nathan: Out. Who knows where. Kristina is never home. I don't think she wants me around Jamie all that much.

*Jo tried to hide the look on her face, but it was hard. She felt so sad for him. His entire life has been turned around and headed for the worst. She shook her head.*

Jo: I should have never left.

Nathan: Hm?

Jo: I didn't realize how bad it was. I mean, I thought I had it the worst after the funeral.

Nathan: You did. You just cleaned your life up faster.

Jo: So... what's your plan then? To clean yours up?

*He crashed on the couch.*

Nathan: What's there to plan? I'm divorced. I lost custody of Natalie and I barely see Jamie. The only thing I had going on for me was that I got sober. That is until last night at least.

*She walked over to him.*

Jo: Hey, one bump in the road shouldn't stop you. You got sober before, you can do it again. And it was one night. You know what they say, a person who never made any mistakes never made anything.

Nathan: Isn't that from Spiderman?

Jo: Albert Einstein. Close enough.

Nathan: Forget it, Jo. It's no use. I appreciate you coming all this way but... I mean look at me. Look at this place.

Jo: Yeah look around, and really let it sink in. Because you'll be looking back here soon surprised at how far you've come.

Nathan: What are you saying?

Jo: I'm saying... I'm saying I'll help you. I'm here to stay. So you can try to kick me out but it's not going to work. Not while you're sitting on this couch with... is that mustard?

*Embarrassed, Nathan grabbed a random t-shirt off the floor and wiped the yellow substance off the couch.*

Jo: So are you in or out?

Nathan: In or out of what?

Jo: Well I haven't worked out all the details yet mister. Give me a second.

*For the first time in months, Nathan smiled. A real, genuine smile. And it was her. Whether he realized it or not, just being around Jo again has helped him immensely.*

Jo: Okay. Got it. Get up, come on.

Nathan: Where are we going?

*Jo had to grab his arm and pull him up from the couch.*

Jo: The airport.

Nathan: The airport? Why?

Jo: Because! We can't get to Nancy and Natalie any other way.

Nathan: What? Jo, are you crazy? We can't just go to them!

Jo: Why not? You're not getting anywhere staying here. You're just going to have to trust me Nathaniel.
