S7E8: A Taste of Your Own Medicine

[Hallie and Damon's apartment]
*Hallie and Damon were laying in bed, playing with each other's fingers.*

Hallie: You know, tonight we have that thing at Nancy and Nathan's.

Damon: Oh, right. Are you excited to meet Chris?

Hallie: I sort of met him at Nancy's event. But that night... was such a blur. I don't really want to remember it.

Damon: Yeah. Is everyone recovering from the exposure?

Hallie: Eh. Nancy has it the worst. Nathan and Steven did the worst thing, sure, but they'll recover. The internet wants drama, so when they hear about anybody cheating on anybody, it becomes front page news... everywhere.

Damon: Exactly.

Hallie: Plus she's got this whole thing with Nathan, and Natalie was sick for a while... I just feel like she's not in a good place right now. So just... try not to bring anything up about it tonight.

Damon: I won't.

Hallie: But I talked to her yesterday and she said they are surprisingly doing well ever since Natalie came home.

Damon: That's good to hear.

Hallie: Obviously everything is still really delicate, but she said they are taking things slow and it's only been getting better.

Damon: I knew they'd make it out of this rut.

Hallie: That's because you're so smart. And amazing. And funny. And kind.

*They kissed.*

Damon: I love you, Hallie.

Hallie: I love you more.

*They kissed again.*

That Night
[Nancy and Nathan's house]
*Nancy and Nathan were hosting a fun night of pizza and games for their friends, mainly so everyone can meet Chris. Jo and Chris walked in, and saw Nina, Steven, Caroline, Nancy, Nathan, Hallie, Damon, and the newest addition, Natalie. They were all sitting on the couch eating pizza.*

Jo: Hey, guys!

*Everyone got up to meet Chris, and eventually they all sat down again. Jo and Chris grabbed pizza as well.*

Hallie: So, how was the mountains?

Jo: Really fun.

Chris: Jo tried sushi for the first time.

Steven: You've never had sushi?

Jo: Nope.

Nancy: Did you like it?

Jo: It was pretty good.

Nathan: Unbelievable. For the year we dated, I begged her to try sushi. She never did.

*Jo laughed.*

Jo: I can be pretty stubborn.

Nina: Believe me, we know.

Hallie: So, how's it been with Natalie?

*They all looked at Natalie, sitting in her bassinet.*

Nancy: I'm convinced we had the perfect baby.

Nathan: Yeah, we get at least six straight hours of sleep each night.

Nina: What?! Lucky. Caroline, come here!

*Nina walked with Caroline over to the bassinet.*

Nina: This is your cousin! Careful, don't touch her unless you've washed your hands.
