The Middle of the Night
[Nathan and Kristinas apartment]
*Nathan and Jo were asleep in his bed. It had been about a week since the last episode, and they have been secretly hooking up almost every night. Nathan's phone rang, and he sprung up to answer.*
Nathan: Hello? Nancy, hey.
Nancy: Nathan? I need your help.
Nathan: What's going on?
*Jo rolled over and groaned, annoyed to be woken up.*
Nancy: The sink is leaking. It's leaking and leaving a mess of water underneath. I put a bowl but it won't stop. It's loud and making noises and Natalie can't sleep. Neither can I. I don't know what to do. I have people coming tomorrow to cook for Thanksgving. How can they cook without a sink? I...
Nathan: Okay, it's okay, you probably just need to replace the knob. Don't worry.
Nancy: What knob?
Nathan: Do you see the big wire connecting the pipes under the sink?
Nancy: Yeah... I think so.
Nathan: There should be a twisty thing. Like a large knob.
Nancy: Uh-huh.
Nathan: After a while it gets worn down and needs to be replaced. We should have an extra in the garage. I mean you, you should have an extra.
*Nancy walked to the garage to look. Usually, Nathan was the one doing these house chores. Nancy knew nothing of the sort. It's times like these she needs him around.*
Nancy: I got it.
Nathan: Now just unscrew the original knob and put the new one in. And be careful, it's sharp. Screw it on really tight so the leaking stops.
Nancy: Did it. Thank you. Sorry to bother you, did I wake you?
Nathan: No, I was up.
*Jo groaned again.*
Nancy: Um, so I'll see you.
Nathan: See you.
Nancy: Bye.
*Nancy hung up.*
Nathan: Jo, Jo did you hear that?
Jo: How could I not, you're yelling.
Nathan: I'm not yelling. But, I mean, she's calling me for help. She's been coming back lately. I mean, she doesn't seem so angry at me anymore.
Jo: *uninterested* That's great, Nate.
Nathan: I'm serious.
Jo: And I'm serious, I need to get some sleep.
Nathan: Fine.
*He rolled back around and went to sleep.*
The Next Morning
[the plaza]
*Jo was walking back home, and ran into Nina and Hallie.*
Nina: Jo, hey!
Jo: Hey guys.
Nina: Where are you headed?
Jo: Home.
Nina: Oh. Wait, where are you coming from?
Jo: Hm? No where. I just... went out to get breakfast.
Hallie: Isn't that the outfit you were wearing last night? To the movies?
Jo: What? No.
Hallie: It so is! I remember Nancy complimented your jeans.
Nina: What's going on?
Jo: Nothing! God, I didn't know I was friends with the fashion police!
*Jo walked away very fast.*
