S5E11: The Resign

Afternoon
[Jo and Tucker's house]
*Tucker came through the bedroom door. Jo was laying on the bed, crying. He sat down.*

Tucker: Hey.

*She sniffled.*

Jo: You saw.

Tucker: I did.

*It was silent for a second.*

Jo: I hate my life.

Tucker: No, don't say that.

*He leaned down on the bed, and pulled her to rest her head on him. He played with her hair as he comforted her. She held his hand.*

Jo: Everything good I have, can be ruined all by the same thing.

Tucker: Jo, let's not overthink this. We can still turn this around, it's not too late.

*She sat up.*

Jo: How? Everyone saw the pictures.

Tucker: There can be another explanation for us being in the same house. You can tell them we're friends, and I was just... over.

Jo: No one will believe it.

*To sum things up, two pictures got out of Jo in her new house, and Tucker in his new house. Which is the same house. Now people are suspecting that they are dating.*

Jo: People know. It's out.

Tucker: Jo-

Jo: I know it seems so small. Such a stupid thing to get so upset about. I know. But this has messed up so much for me. I think it was one of the reasons Nathan and I split. And we dated for a year. You and I haven't been together that long.

Tucker: People started suspecting you and Nathan way sooner than they suspected you and I.

Jo: I know. But no matter what excuse I make, they'll still know the truth. It's too late. It's already mended into their heads. I hate being famous. I hate it.mI'm quitting youtube.

Tucker: What? Jo you can't-

Jo: I am. I know I'll still technically be 'famous' in the morning but time will pass, and I'll be forgotten. Or at least people will stop caring so much. And I'll be able to go out to dinner with my boyfriend in peace.

Tucker: You can't quit.

Jo: It's something I've thought about for a while. I just... it's for the best.

Tucker: No, you know what? I'm not going to let this happen. I'll say something.

Jo: What?

Tucker: People will believe it. If you say something, it'll seem like you're covering up. But if I say something-

Jo: No. Uh-uh.

Tucker: Wh-

Jo: One of the reasons it took so long for us to get together was because of the complications of the internet. I promised you it wouldn't get out because you didn't want any kind of fame. You didn't want to be known as just my boyfriend. And I'm going to keep that promise. So, you know what we're gonna do? We aren't going to say anything. We're going to make them think we either never dated, or we broke up. Trust me. In three months, people will have forgotten, and this will all be over.

*He smiled.*

Jo: I hope.

*She smiled too, hopeful. She laid back down on his chest and he kissed her forehead.*

The Next Day
[the mall]
*Nancy and Hallie were walking in the mall shopping. Since it was during the month of December, everything was green, red, and gold. Christmas was everywhere.*
