Night Time
[Nathan and Steven's House]
*Nancy walked in the house with everyone else there, except Jo.*
Nancy: Hey!
Steven: Hey!
Nancy: Okay, I brought... Operation-
Hallie: Ew.
Nancy: Okay, or... I also brought Clue.
Hallie: That's fine. I also brought Clue but-
Nina: I brought What Do You Meme!
*Everyone laughed.*
*Nathan got up and kissed Nancy.*
Nathan: Hi.
Nancy: Oh my gosh... Nate! What are you doing?!
Nathan: Jo's not here.
Nancy: Oh! Hahah! Well in that case...
*She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back.*
Jo: Hey guys sorry I'm late-
*Nancy quickly let go of Nathan and pushed him away.*
Jo: Oh my...
*Everyone sat there in silence for a few seconds, unsure of what to do.*
Nancy: Um... Jo-
*Before Nancy could finish, Jo stormed out and slammed the door. Nancy ran after her.*
Nancy: Jo wait please! Jo, wait!
*They are now in the driveway.*
Jo: What! What do you want from me?! What do you want me to say?!
Nancy: I- I don't know I just want to talk!
Jo: Nancy, you're one of my best friends. And now you... well you're... now you're sleeping with my ex-boyfriend!
Nancy: What! Jo no! That's not true!
Jo: So you're trying to tell me you two have not slept together?!
Nancy: Yes! I mean no! I mean... yes I'm trying to tell you no! We haven't!
Jo: Well, it doesn't matter. You kissed him. And you kissed him in front of everyone else! Yet you somehow hid it from me!
Nancy: Jo we only did that to protect you!
Jo: Protect me? What like I'm some sort of baby!
Nancy: No! We just wanted to... I don't know! We thought it'd make you feel better!
Jo: Oh, oh that is so sweet. You thought it would make me feel better?
*Nancy smiled.*
Nancy: Yeah, we were trying to be the best friends we can be. And we had you best at heart the whole time.
Jo: Well, guess what? I'm not yours to protect.
Nancy: What?
Jo: You tried to hide the biggest secret you had from me.
Nancy: But I thought we were working things out!
Jo: This feels like I just got cheated on! Which of course you don't know what that feels like because you're 'miss perfect'-
Nancy: What? Jo. You know I've been recently cheated on. Why would you bring that up?
Jo: Well you deserved it!
*Nancy started to tear up.*
Nancy: Oh Jo, you do not mean that. That was way harsh.
Jo: No, you know what? Don't talk to me. Don't call me. Please, just leave me alone for a little while.
*Jo walked away and got in her car. Nancy stood there for a minute with tears in her eyes, as she watched Jo drive away. Then, Nancy walked back inside and everyone was staring at her.*
Nancy: Well, I guess that's it.
Nina: Wha... what happened?
Nancy: Well, she got really really mad. And then she told me that I was 'miss perfect' and have never been cheated on, which super random, especially because I have been cheated on and-
Nina: Oh okay Nancy uhh... I was just trying to be nice. We actually watched the whole thing.
Nancy: Oh, yeah, well I should've figured. You guys probably weren't just sitting in here the whole time.
Nathan: I'm so sorry honey.
*Nathan got up and hugged Nancy. She hugged back, sadly.*
Nancy: I just... I don't know what to do.
Nathan: I know. It'll all be alright though. She's just mad. She'll get over it.
Nancy: I hope.
The Next Day
[the plaza]
*The next day, Nancy was lost. She didn't know what to do. She knows Jo told her not to speak to her, but she wasn't going to listen. She was walking around at the plaza, and she spotted Jo.*
Nancy: Jo! Hey Jo! Jo wait!
*Jo turned around, and as soon as she saw her, she walked away. Nancy stopped chasing after her in disappointment.*
*The next day, Nancy knocked on Jo's door with two cups of coffee. Jo opened the door, and Nancy smiled. Jo smiles back, took the coffee, and slammed the door on Nancy's face.*
*Finally, the third day, Nancy saw Jo at the magazine kiosk in the plaza.*
Nancy: Jo?
*Jo turned around to look at her. Nancy smiled.*
Nancy: Oh, hi. I've missed you. My goodness it's been so long since we've talked. I mean, you haven't really talked yet but you know what I mean-
Jo: Nancy.
Nancy: Yeah?
Jo: I'm... willing to forgive you.
Nancy: Oh- wait- what? Really? Oh Jo you don't know how good that makes me feel, I know-
Jo: I'm willing to forgive you, if you can prove to me that you are a good friend.
Nan y: Oh Jo yes of course I'll do anything I just want you back.
Jo: You can prove your friendship to me... if you break up with Nathan.
*Nancy was stunned, she didn't know what to say. They both stood there in silence, until Nancy spoke up.*
Nancy: Are you... are you making me choose between you and Nathan?
Jo: I guess so.
