Night was starting to fall, and in the moon's glow, the yellow flowers around them seemed to almost glow.

Tyler can't help smiling.

It seems like a good sign.

"Maybe," Josh says, "Maybe we're getting close."

There's a hint of doubt in his voice, but Tyler tries to ignore it.

He hopes his fren's right.

Really, really hopes so.

It feels like they're starting to drift around without any destination or purpose.

Maybe being anchored to something, someone, would help.

He sighs.

It feels like he's so close to finally being able to holding something that will last, and he's afraid it will all fall apart before he does.

Hold on, he tells himself. Hold on.

He's losing track of how long they've been walking for.

And he's vaguely aware of feeling tired and trying to ignore it.

Finally it gets darker and darker and Josh says, "I'm sorry. I thought-I really thought-"

"It's alright," Jenna says softly. "Let's try again in the morning, okay?"

"This is pointless," Tyler mutters, and for once, no one says anything.

Maybe he's right.

He doesn't want to be right.

But he fears he is.
