She wakes up.
Feels her long, long, hair.
No.
Something needed to change.
But she didn't trust herself, not with what was required.
"Xavier!"
"What?" he asks, turning away, she notes, from Rachel.
She tries to convince herself.
Tries to convince herself they are just friends.
And maybe they are maybe they aren't but either way it doesn't make Mari feel any better.
She's afraid that she's being pushed to the side.
Well, time for trust, it seems.
"It's...it's important," she says.
"What is it?" he asks.
"I kinda need you to do something..." she mumbles. "Something I don't exactly trust myself to do."
Why?
Why has this...this habit, taken so much from her?
She hates it but even as she does that there is nothing for her to do.
"Okay," Xavier says. "...Okay. What is it?"
She tugs at her long hair. "I...I don't think I can deal with it like this right now."
"And you want me to help?" he asks.
She tugs her sleeve down.
"Yeah," she says quietly. "I mean, if you don't mind..."
"I don't," Xavier says. "Not at all."
Mari smiles. "Thank you."
