Øverturning the lies (a twenty one pilots fanfiction)

There's a rhythm to this place, the banditø's camp. Familiarity and routine. It's supposed to be peaceful. And to her it is, at least a little. 

But in her mind she's anxious about the ones she cares about. 

She thinks. 

She has an idea. 

It might help, it might not. 

It might be worth the effort of at least trying, though. 

Jenna gets up, rummages around in her bag. 

She pulls out a roll of yellow tape, and then searches some more. 

There's something she's looking for. 

Minutes crawl by and she's starting to grow discouraged. 

And then she finds it.

A smile crosses her face when she picks up the notebook. 

She puts some yellow tape on it and looks around for a pencil. 

She finds one, buried at the very bottom. 

Inside the notebook she writes, "Hope this helps. -Jenna" 

She makes sure she puts it somewhere he'll see it. 

And then she watches from a distance.

That night, there's a folded piece of paper right where she was about to lie down.

She opens it.

It doesn't take long to recognize the handwriting. 

When she does she smiles and reads every single word.

As soon as she sees Tyler, she goes up to him and hugs him. 

"It did help," Tyler says. 

"I'm glad," Jenna says quietly. 

She'll try to hold onto that small speck of light. 

And she can't help but laugh when she hears Tyler and Josh talking later. 

"So, basically the first thing you write down is a love song about Jenna?" Josh asks. "What about me?"

"What do you want me to write?" Tyler asks, looking up from his notebook. "Your name?" 

"Yes," Josh says, nodding. "Insert that into whatever you're working on." 

"I'm not-" Tyler says. 

"Don't be silly," Josh says, "You've got that look on your face. You're working on something." 

Tyler closes the notebook. "Maybe so, maybe not. You'll see." 

And eventually, they do see. All of them.

But not yet.
