Clancy is woken from un uneasy slumber. He clambers to his feet, and when he sees the figure that's standing at the mouth of the cave he lets out a mirthless chuckle.

"So you've found me," he says to the red-cloaked bishop. "I wish I could say I was glad to see you, but I would be lying.

"You weren't exactly hiding," Keons says.

"Maybe I wasn't hiding," Clancy says. "Maybe I let you find me."

Keons just shakes his head. "Why? Why would you leave?"

"I couldn't take it anymore," Clancy says. " I couldn't take living in a place full of nothing but lies."

Keons shakes his head. "I used to be proud of you, child. How I wish I could save you now."

"No you don't," Clancy says bitterly. "You don't want to save me. You never did."

"Did I ever treat you with anything but kindness?" Keons asks. "Did any of the other bishops?"

"That isn't the point," Clancy says, irritation seeping through his voice. "You lied to me my whole life!"

"Would you rather we had left you to die?" Keons asks.

"What do you mean?" Clancy askes, caught off guard.

"He really hasn't told you?" Keons asks.

He shakes his head. "Ah, well, Nico has his reasons."

"What do you mean?" Clancy repeats, growing more frusturated.

"I can't tell you that," Keons says. "Not unless you come back with me."

"I can't," Clancy says forcefully.

He's telling the truth, he really is. Not that Keons would understand that.

"I'm sorry," the bishop says, and he genuinely sounds sincere. "But you don't have a choice in this. You are coming back, whether you like it or not. For your sake I wouldn't fight."

Clancy considers running. But in an instant, Keons makes a move towards him, grabbing his arm and filling him with a paralyzing sense of fear.

"Come back with me," the bishop says.

"I-" Clancy struggles to find the rebellion inside him that kept him fueled for so long. "I-"

The banditøs need me!

That thought hits him hard and he struggles to break Keons' grip.

"Child," the bishop says. "Please don't fight."

But he does.

Until he finds himself gasping for breath and the world growing black around him.

His last thought is, Cover me!
