"Tyler," he hears Josh say.
Tyler doesn't acknowledge his fren's voice. He's still afraid that it's a hallucination-that he's actually going crazy.
"You aren't crazy," Josh says softly.
Tyler glares at him.
Josh sits down beside him.
"I can't stay here very long," he says. "So I need you to listen. Just listen to me, okay?"
Tyler looks at him but says nothing. Promises nothing.
"Please?" Josh asks.
His fren sounds tired. Worn out. So Tyler nods.
"You have to go along with it all for now," Josh says. "For now. Please. You have to stay strong, all right? Don't give up."
Tyler looks at him uncertainly.
"They need you," Josh says quietly. "Whether you believe it or not, it's true."
Tyler sees Josh start to disappear.
But before he's gone completely, he says one more thing.
"Please get up, okay?"
Okay, he thinks.
He doesn't say it out loud, but it's enough to make Josh smile.
Then he's really gone. And Tyler really does get up.
