(ROBIN)

We won more medals during the second day of the Swim Meet but we fell short at taking the overall first place. Our school went home with a silver medal but everyone was ecstatic about our strong finish and showing in this year's competition. Gabe even turned teary eyed while he and Cherry were accepting the silver medal for our teams and school.

After that, the whole swimming team were recognized by the school for our wins. They covered one wall of a building with a large banner congratulating the Swimming Teams. The Swim Meet was featured in different sports shows and it even got into the 6 o'clock news. I was surprised to see myself for a few seconds when some part of my interview was aired. I also received a good amount of felicitations as well as teasing from my friends and teammates.

Within that week as well, Uncle assured me that Daimo got into a private rehab facility safely in Japan where he will stay there for two years or until he got rid of the toxins in his body from abusing drugs and alcohol. Whichever comes first. Misaki will also stay in Japan to continue studying business and putting herself to work in her family's company.

That means that for a foreseeable future, I won't be bothered by both Daimo and Misaki which is a fucking relief for me.

Then when that week was over, life settled around us again. December days slowly fell and the holiday break started knocking on our doors. As well as the midterm exams. The halls of our school was decorated with passing students diligently memorizing their notes while inside the classroom, teachers are clamoring to help students review their lessons that could possibly show up in the exams.

Blu and I got swept into the midterm fever like the rest of our classmates and friends. We take notes during the weekdays and at weekends, attended study group sessions with others to review ourselves.

Uncle and Gilbert were both delighted to see us studying and reviewing hard for the exams.

"Are you two showing off so you can demand lots of presents for Christmas?" Uncle asked while one of his eyebrow is turning upward.

"What Christmas?" Blu asked, completely puzzled while I cannot even react because I have complicated Physics formulas I have to memorize.

"Oh no..." Gilbert sighed. We frowned at them. "What?" I asked, a little annoyed. Why are they disturbing us?

"Christmas is in ten days," Uncle said.

"Yes, and our exam is in two days." I retorted back. Today is Saturday...exams will start on Monday. Three subjects per day and on the fourth day, it'll be MAPEH the whole day with Physical Education taking most of our day on Thursday.

"Exams are more important than Christmas," Blu whined while holding his notebook in AP or Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies).

"I don't think so." Uncle shook his head. "But sure, keep on reviewing for exams. We will tell you about our Christmas itinerary at dinner." He added.

Blu and I looked at each other. Gilbert chuckled. "Don't worry about it. Just keep on studying. You can pass those exams, just keep working hard." He said to encourage us.

Gilbert pushed Uncle away and left us alone. Blu went back to softly muttering words from his notebook. I stared at him for a moment. I feel like I am forgetting something but I just cannot think what specifically.

Whatever. Maybe Uncle is right. We have to get through exam week so we can start thinking about the holiday break. I wonder what gift I can give to Blu...and what is the formula for velocity again?

Ugh!
