(GILBERT)

I picked up Blu's phone when it fell from the boy's hand after hearing Master Robin's question to Zane.

"Who killed Blu's parents? Blu's parents died from an accident," Zane scowled at his nephew.

"Right. And I am the Prince of Wales," Master Robin snorted. "Daimo already let it slip. He said what happened to Blu's parents were not an accident. That it was deliberate murder. Who did it?"

"Someone murdered my parents?" Blu swallowed visibly. "Please tell me..."

"Nothing is confirmed on that front," Zane continued scowling at Master Robin. "Your father spewed words and you are believing him? Really? It was all in your father's head. As today stands, Blu's parents died in an unfortunate accident. It was tragic..."

"But you have your suspicion. Because come on, they have a debt to the Akage and they just died...leaving you their son. That's...suspicious, Uncle." Master Robin said.

"They left Blu to me because I am their biggest investors..."

"Why did you become their investors?" Master Robin continued to challenge Zane.

"Because we owe Blu your life!" Zane finally snapped. "You want to talk about debt? When you were inside that chicken coop, crying in hunger...a seven year old boy took pity on you and kept you company. That boy went against his parents wishes and threats to give you food and water. That boy kept you alive. We owe Blu your very life!"

Silence exploded in the spaces between the four of us. I watched as Blu's shoulders and back slumped and the boy bowed his head in silent despair. Master Robin closed his eyes and turned away to hide his reaction to us.

Zane looked at me. I...don't know what to feel much less say in this situation. We are baring it all for the boys. We have lifted the shield that protects them from the truth. And now, Blu will live in a world where he know that his parents were part of Master Robin's kidnapping while Master Robin has to contend with the fact that he owes his every breath on the son of the people who were the reason why he is living with a trauma.

Zane turned his eyes to Blu. "The Akages pay their dues but we also collect what is owe to us..."

"Killing my parents is not enough payment for what you perceived they did?" Blu asked in a clipped tone while lifting his head up. I inwardly gasped at the anger I glimpsed on his eyes. Blu...our kind Blu...is hurting and angry.

"Can you prove that our family killed your parents?" Zane met Blu's intense words with his calm ones. "But then again, even I suspect my own family having a hand in killing your parents." My husband added. "When I received the news that the Tañadas were dead, my first thought was you and the my second thought was who did it. Is it my father or my brother?"

"Or you..." Blu said daringly. "You must've hated my parents for what they did to your precious nephew." The boy said bitterly.

Zane smirked. "I don't just hate your parents, Blu. I kept them under my gaze for years. I invested in their business. Gave them the means to start a new life and a way to provide for their son. I encouraged them to live close to us. I kept on reminding them of what they did to Robin. I don't just hate your parents, I also never forgave them and kept them under suspicion at all times."

Blu sniffed. "And then you killed them..."

"Stop accusing my Uncle without any evidence!" Master Robin shouted at Blu. "Don't sit there and act like your parents didn't do anything wrong..."

"You owe your life to me!" Blu glared back at Master Robin. "If we will believe everything your Uncle is saying...you owe everything to me. You are alive because of me. What is it you said in the bathroom at that private resort where we went for our summer vacation? I am your "air". You need me." Blu stood from his seat. "Maybe I don't need to prove anything to all of you. Maybe its you people who need to prove to me that you didn't kill my family!" Blu's furious eyes wandered at all of us. He is shaking ever so lightly. His hands were formed into tight fists.
