(ROBIN)
"What do you mean you don't have adjacent rooms available?" Blu is close to jumping over the reception's desk to peer into the hotel's computer.
Awhile ago, after doing our shopping, Blu and I got to the hotel's reception desk to book adjacent rooms for the night.
But the pretty hotel receptionist told us that all their adjacent rooms are occupied at the moment.
"You can book two rooms, Sirs." The receptionist said before frowning delicately at us. "But first, can I see your IDs? You look like minors..."
"We are minors," I confirmed her guess as I passed her my school ID. Blu did the same. The lady receptionist and her companion, another female, studied our IDs. "May we ask how you will pay for the rooms, Sirs?" They asked.
"Credit card," I slid my Uncle's card on the desk between us. "You can call the bank to confirm that we didn't steal it." I said in confidence. I know how these things work. A minor using someone else's credit card will always be questioned and verified. It's protocol for establisments like this hotel to call the bank where the card is from.
A little search online and the receptionists got the numbers of Akage Bank. We listened to their end of the conversation.
"The card belongs to a certain Mr.Zane Akage. The card holder is a student named Robin Akage. Do you know him?" The receptionist on the phone asked whomever is on the other line.
There was a pause and the receptionist eyed me. Then she slowly held out the phone for me. "Someone wants to talk to you." She said.
I took the phone with a nod of gratitude. "Hello?"
"Master Robin." It's Devin on the other line.
"Devin? You are still in the office?" I looked at Blu. He gave me a puzzled look.
"I was actually waiting for your call. Master Zane warned me that he gave his card to you, to be used. Are you checking in the hotel now?" Devin asked.
"Yes. Can you verify the card for me?"
"Of course, Master Robin. Kindly give the phone back to the lady." Devin said.
I did that. The receptionist talked to Devin and soon enough, the receptionists are all smile at me and Blu.
"We still don't have available adjacent rooms at the moment. What about some VIP rooms, Sirs?" The first receptionist offered kindly.
Blu's eyes widened. "VIP rooms? But they will be expensive..."
I pulled Blu away from the desk before he embarrassed us more. "No separate rooms for us. My Uncle, the owner of the card, don't want us to sleep in separate rooms. We are both his wards." I gestured at Blu. "This person and I, we were ordered to look out for each other. We cannot do that if we will sleep in separate rooms..."
Blu put a hand on my arm to stop me from talking. "We will stay in one room?"
I frowned at him. "Yes. They don't have any available adjacent rooms for us. You want to sleep separately? What about Uncle's order that we look out for each other?"
Hesitation marred Blu's face. "But staying in one room..."
I patted his hand resting on my arm. "We have no choice. We got our orders. We will stay in one room." I smiled at the receptionists. "How about a top floor suite with two bedrooms?"
