(ZANE AKAGE)

Sunday found me and Blu talking to AnneMarie's parents. Blu's bestfriend is not included on the meeting, it's just me, Blu, Dennis and Patty Montemayor. We are here to take Blu's bestfriend's laptop and erase all the evidence of the blackmail she served to the boys.

The Montemayor's house has a gloomy feel on it. They have a beautiful albeit modest home but the mood is somber. That's not surprising if you think about what happened last Friday involving their daughter admitting that she retorted to blackmailing her own bestfriend.

"AnneMarie told us everything," Mrs.Montemayor gave Blu an apologetic look. "We are so sorry Blu. We never expected for this to happen between you and..." she stopped before shaking her head. "No, that was wrong. I think we should have known something like this will happen. AnneMarie loves you so much that we should have known it will turn to obssession..."

Mr.Montemayor sighed as he held his wife's hand. They are sitting together on one side of the lanai table while we are talking in the terrace of their garden. "We hoped, we desperately hoped it won't lead to this. To AnneMarie doing something that could hurt Blu. She loves Blu. I think she always expect that she will end up marrying her bestfriend. Now it seems like she hid her feelings for Blu quite well and this happened. She blackmailed someone and confirmed it with the video on her laptop..."

Mrs.Montemayor put a hand on her mouth as she let out a sob of despair. Mr.Montemayor looked at Blu. "We are sorry, Blu. We are truly sorry. Don't worry, we will take Annie away from you..."

"No!" Blu shook his head and glanced at me. "I...do we really have to go that far? She is my bestfriend. I lover her too."

"But she has illusions about you two that could be dangerous. We think it's for the better if we will take her abroad..."

"But I want her with me," Blu said in the middle of Mr.Montemayor's plan. "I think AnneMarie and I could do things together to help her get over this."

I finally speak, "Have you tried putting her in therapy? I know some good doctors who could help her..."

Robin being in therapy for his panic attacks has given me access to that branch of medicine. I met certain doctors who can help Blu's bestfriend.

"We are actually looking for a psychologist for our daughter," Mrs.Montemayor said. "We talked to several people about this already. We did it at the start of this year, we are just looking for the right moment to tell AnneMarie that we want her to talk to a psychologist."

"But we push it off and push it off. Hoping that our daughter will outgrow her intense feelings for Blu. When Blu's parents died, we were so afraid that the judge will give Blu's custody to us. We were good friends with his parents after all. We were glad when you took him in," Mr.Montemayor nodded at me. "We were afraid that if Blu lives with us, AnneMarie's unhealthy interest on Blu will worsen. But we were wrong. Not living in the same house as Blu didn't stop her from hurting her bestfriend. This is our fault. If we just push through with our early plan to get Annie the help she needs, this might not have happened."

"But it did and now we have to act accordingly," I said. "My nephew is in therapy as well. It helps, believe me."

"Please get AnneMarie some help," Blu said with pleading on his tone. "But don't take her away. I think she needs me and I need her too. We need each other. I need to be there for her. She has always been there for me. Please, don't make me feel like I abandoned my bestfriend."

We all look at Blu as he pleaded passionately for her friend.

"But what if close proximity with you will just make things worse for her?" Mrs.Montemayor asked. "What if putting distance between you two will be the one that can help her get over her intense feelings for you?"
