(ROBIN)
Friday rolled by without any fanfare. I'm so looking forward for my weekend with Blu. Uncle hinted of wanting to do some roadtrip with the four of us as family..
"Maybe Cavite or Batangas. Just somewhere an hour or two drive away from Manila. What do you all think?" Uncle asked us yesterday at the breakfast table.
"Sounds delightful," Gilbert nodded.
"I won't mind a roadtrip," Blu smiled while putting more pancakes on his plate. I'm ever so glad to see him eating well. Since sleeping again with me, Blu confessed that he stopped having strange dreams. His appetite surely improved since that week we fought.
"If Blu wants a roadtrip, then I am in." I said.
"Stop depending your decision on Blu," Uncle scowled at me.
"Why not? Why would I go an a roadtrip without him? That will mean it will be just me and you two old lovebirds. I'd rather walk towards a running traffic than do that,"
"No one should walk to a running traffic," Gilbert admonished me gently. "And who are you calling old lovebirds?"
"You two..."
"We are not old!" Uncle loudly exclaimed that denial.
"At least not me," Gilbert gestured at himself.
Uncle gave Gilbert a betrayed look. But our Gilbert just poured more coffee on Uncle's cup to placate him. They are an old married couple now, I swear.
"Can we pass the cementery on the way to that somewhere?" Blu asked. "I would love to place some flowers for my parents. Mom's birthday is coming."
"Oh really? Then we should do that," Gilbert patted Blu's arm. "May I bake a cake for her? You could blow the candle and make a wish for her,"
Blu bestowed Gilbert a bright smile. "Oh yes please. That would be great. My Mom loves cake."
"Then lets celebrate her birthday," Uncle decided. "She lived a good life and she left a wonderful legacy. We should celebrate her."
"Thank you, Sir." Blu looked deeply touched at that.
"By the way Blu, everything you asked for will be ready tomorrow. I will just arrange them on your room," Gilbert said.
"You asked Gilbert to shop for you again?" I asked Blu.
"Yes. I need more writing supplies and a new headset. I want to go to the mall but remember that I am still finishing a project that is due next week."
"When is your periodical test?" Uncle asked.
"Next month," I replied evenly. "Plenty of time to review,"
"Good. Study hard. Present some good grades on me and I might get generous. Robin, if you flunk a subject, I will pull out the Porsche. Do you understand?" Uncle gave me a telling look.
"I'm getting on it. I swear, I won't flunk my English Lit."
"Do that..."
Now that I remember that promise, I need to study harder. I'm barely scraping my English Lit subject. It's the bane of my existence after AnneMarie.
"Look at that," I woke up from thinking about flunking grades and my Porsche being towed away when Xavier nudged my shoulder. "Some schmuck has gone insane,"
We were walking back from our PsyEd class in the gymnasium and passing the wide soccer field when we noticed men working on it. "It looks like they are setting a stage," I said. "Will there be a concert here that I didn't know about?" Have I been so busy romancing Blu that I missed an event announcement?
