(ROBIN)
As usual and without any surprise, Ojiisan brought boxes and boxes of gifts for me when we met at the hotel where he is staying. Like his command, I brought Blu with me. We dressed up nicely, drove to the hotel and together we go up to the Presidential Suite my Ojiisan booked while be is staying here in the Philippines.
Nothing but the best for my grandfather. The suite he got was spacious with two bedrooms, a mini liquor bar, it's own kitchen and dining area, an entertainment corner and a meeting table set up. It's a whole condo. He must've spent good amount of money on this place.
And speaking of spending a good amount of money, his gifts are excessive too. Clothes, shoes, colognes and even new watches. Ojiisan went far in buying me gifts. He bought some for Blu too.
Blu, who looked surprised to receive gifts from my grandfather, took it hesitantly. "They are just shoes, don't feel too burdened by it. I hope you will wear them well," Ojiisan pushed a wrapped box on Blu. "Open it," he urged my boyfriend next.
"Thank you," Blu took the box and unwrapped the gift by tearing the wrappers apart. Blu is someone who believes that if you teared up the wrappers from your gift, you will receive more. When the wrapper was off, a box bearing the name of a popular brand of shoes was revealed. Blu checked the size of the shoes. "It's my size. How did you know...?"
"I told him." I said. Blu gave me a surprised look. "Ojiisan messaged me to ask what gift you would like. I just randomly said shoes and gave your size to him." I added as an explanation.
"Ah," Blu nodded. Then he bowed to my grandfather. "Thank you Sir, for your kindness."
"It's nothing. I like you, Blu. I am glad that you and Keito are getting along well." Ojiisan stood from the solo armchair. "Shall we eat, you two growing boys must be famished?"
Not really, one thing we love about living with Gilbert is that he feed us well. But Blu and I followed Ojiisan on the dining area of the suite where our dinner was served.
"I volunteered to buy you a car when you won those medals in that swimming meet but your uncle declined. I could gave bought you any car that you want," Ojiisan said while we were dining on pan seared veal with roasted vegetables. I don't really like veal because it taste too gamey for me but my feeling for our main course is nothing compared to Blu's, who poked the meat on his plate while frowning in wonder.
He is so cute.
"Uncle can buy me anything I want as well, Ojiisan. I told you before, this is no competition. Stop competing with Uncle, you'll only lose." I chuckled.
"When can I recruit you on my side, Keito?" Ojiisan sighed.
"Robin," I said. "I don't use that name here. Blu will get confuse."
"I can't remember why you choice that name, out of many names you could've used. Can you?" Ojiisan asked.
"No," I said. "I also don't know why I chose that name."
"Can't you guess?" Ojiisan smiled while cutting the meat on his plate.
"I don't know," I shook my head before turning to Blu. I don't want him to feel left out of the conversation. "What about you, Blu? Why do you think I chose to use Robin instead of my real name or any other English name..."
"I'm not sure?" Blu shrugged. "Maybe because you predicted we will meet? I'm a bluejay so you chose a bird's name as well. So we can be both birds."
Blu blinked rapidly once he finished that thought about my name. We stared into each other and Blu winced uncomfortably. "That's just a guess, of course."
