(BLU)
"How about you Blu? What interest you?"
I almost jumped in surprise when Chairman Akage, lying on the hospital bed while Robin sat on edge and holding his grandfather's hand, turned his head to look at me.
To Robin's delight, Mr.Akage made true of his promise that he will permit Robin to visit and see his grandfather. We have been here for almost two hours now and from the moment we arrived 'til now, Chairman Akage's whole focus was on his sole grandchild, talking rapidly in Nihonggo that I gave up early to try and understand.
Meanwhile, I stick close to Mr.Gilbert and we stood together near the room's windows since we are both outsider to this family gathering.
But suddenly, all attention was on me when Chairman Akage asked me a question about...what interest me?
I looked at Mr.Gilbert and he gave me a nod of encouragement. I took a step forward to answer. "Oh, I like the usual stuffs, Sir." I said politely. "I like reading, playing video games, listening to music...
"Come closer," Chairman Akage raised a hand to beckoned me.
"What?" I asked because I think I heard him wrong. Does he really want to me to come close? What? What is happening? I never thought Chairman Akage will be interested to know what interest me much less want me close.
Chairman Akage turned to his grandson. "Keito, pull a chair so Blu can sit close to us."
"Yes, Sir." Robin bouded off from sitting at the edge of the bed so he can take a chair by the table and place it at the side of the bed.
"Sit here and talk to me, Blu." Chairman Akage indicated the chair Robin placed by his bed.
This time I looked at Mr.Akage. There was a bit of hesitation from my guardian before he nodded to me to do as Chairman Akage said. So I slowly made my way into that chair and gingerly sat at it. I look up to see both Chairman Akage and Robin looking and smiling at me.
What is going on?! I want to freak out.
"So you like reading and playing video games. What else do you like to do?" Chairman Akage asked before coughing a little. Robin was there quickly to place a towel near his grandfather's mouth. Chairman Akage gazed fondly at Robin.
I cleared my throat. "I like listening to music. Watching shows on TV and drawing."
"Drawing? You draw?" Chairman Akage turned more interested at me.
I nodded. "A little. I mean, I'm not that good at it but I like sketching things I see around me. And also I like helping Mr.Gilbert in the kitchen and tending his garden." I said.
"Mr.Gilbert? That's how you call your guardian's partner? And what do you call my son? Mr.Akage?"
I clamped my lips and remained silent because silence means yes and yes, that's how I call Mr.Akage.
"Blu can call us whatever he wants as long as he is comfortable." Mr.Akage said to save me.
"Hmmm," Chairman Akage hummed but I can easily detect that he is not happy with how I call my guardian. But he turned to Robin and smile again. "You say Blu is a good boy."
"That's because he is," Robin smiled at me. I try not to fidget. "Stop intimidating him, Ojiisan. Blu is a good boy. Between us, he is the one who gives Uncle and Gilbert less stress."
"And you love him?"
Robin nodded, "I love him."
Chairman Akage looked at me. I did my best to meet his eyes. Then he frowned. "Why are you not saying anything, Blu?"
