(ROBIN)
"It's good to know that you boys managed to keep things and the team together," Cherry said while we are lounging near the school's pool. The men's swimming team has the command of the whole facility this afternoon because yesterday was the ladies' turn.
Still, Cherry dropped by and was happy to see that the men's team are keeping things good and well even though Gabe is out and Sander is the one manning the team. I am number two today, which means that if Sander suddenly decided to bail, I will take the whistle and be in charge of this whole shit show.
But for now, I am in the side corner of the pool with Cherry floating beside me. I just did three laps around the pool and I think that's enough for now. I am thinking of pushing myself later to see if I can beat my record.
"It's nice to see Tim finally loosening up. What was wrong with him last Saturday?" Cherry sighed while watching Tim command Ricky and other freshmen members of our team.
"He was drunk. We patched things up. Tim is good. He will not cause trouble for now. Shit," I cursed crisply. "Next year, I will command his ass and everyone else's. I swear, if they piss me off...I will drown them all."
Cherry gave out a merry laugh. "You will be terrible as Captain."
"What about the ladies team? Lalaine is ready to give her place up?" I asked.
"Not yet," Cherry smiled in a pleased way. "She still got a whole year before she will be forced to give it all up. Gabe must be having such a blast coming to terms that he will have to leave the team in your capable hands."
"He is leaving me crap. This team is crap."
"Shut up," Cherry laughed again. "You guys have a great chance of winning Nationals this year. With you, Gabe, Sander, John and Tim on board...you guys have a chance to win loads of gold this year. Us girls will have a harder time. The competition is stiff this year."
She is not lying. "Competition is always stiff, when has that stop you girls for giving it all? We are here to support, always. Just tell me what I can do and I will help."
"Oh you are sweet," Cherry leaned in to kiss my cheek. Then she looked into my eyes. "Now tell me, who rejected you?"
I frowned at that. "What kind of bet did you lose that you were regulated to approach me and ask that question?"
"I drew the shortest pepero stick." Cherry didn't even try to dispute my guess. "But that's not the point. The point is, you have been acting peculiar lately. And Gabe said it has something to do with someone rejecting you. Who rejected the great Robin Akage?" Cherry gave me a teasing smile. "Who finally handed you your karma?"
"Karma? Why is being rejected, my karma?"
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe its because of all those female hearts you broke. Also the male gay hearts you ignored." Cherry pouted.
"Fuck them, I am not responsible for their shattered fantasies about me." I replied grumpily. "And I was not rejected. I was..."
"What?" Cherry gave me a look filled with anticipation.
I search for the right analog to use. "I didn't had the chance to present my proposal right. That's why..."
"That's why you got rejected?" Cherry gave me a baffled look. "You didn't proposed right?"
She is pissing me off. "I didn't propose. It was all confusion and I was not rejected. How many times do I have to tell you that?" I asked her in pure irritation.
Cherry just smiled at me, unfazed with the annoyance on my face. "Fine, you were not rejected. But still, give me the name of the person who is confusing you now. But wait, is it a babe or a dude?"
