(GILBERT)
Its like all my nightmares coming true as silence descended on us after watching the video of Blu's parents.
Master Robin tutted. "Can someone say something already? All these tension is killing me."
I saw Zane giving his nephew a furious glare. Master Robin remained relaxed on his seat. Their opposing energy is giving me a headache. I decided to walk to the projector to turn it off and then open the lights in the living room.
I did that so I can see Blu better. "Blu..." I called my son's name.
"I think it has always been at the back of my head. This suspicion I have that this family had something to do with the deaths of my parents." Blu said in a tight tone. I can see the tension in his fisted hands and his struggle to control his emotion.
"Then ask the question, Bluejay." Zane's tone holds challenge in it.
Master Robin frowned at Zane's tone. "Are you intimidating him? In this situation...? Really?"
I saw Blu's hands starting to tremble. I can only imagine the emotions swirling inside him.
"Stop it," I turned my eyes to Zane. "Arrogance will get us nowhere," I said before catching Master Robin's eyes. "That goes to the both of you. Stop making this about you and not about Blu..."
"Did you do it? Did you kill my parents?"
I was expecting that question to come. I think like Blu, I have expected it to come my way since the moment Blu joined our family. How stupid of me to never take a moment to think of an answer for Blu for this question. An answer that could help Blu stop hurting.
Zane is different from me though. He has a readied answer for Blu. "No. I did not." My husband said evenly to our adopted son.
In a way, he is not lying. He didn't kill the Tañadas. He paid someone else to do it. Zane expended money to have someone make the murder of Blu's parents look like an accident and I was the one who cleaned it all up.
"Did you hire someone else to do it?" Master Robin asked squarely.
Zane frowned. "No. What kind of question was that?" He seemed confuse for a moment.
Master Robin shrugged. "A question fit to ask to someone who has a ridiculous amount of money he can expend to do whatever it is he wants to do. Including paying a hired killer to kill someone."
I frowned. Master Robin do have such good imagination. Or gut feeling. I don't know which is which. Zane sighed. "Are you writing a plot for a movie or drama? Only conscienceless people will kill someone. Or hire someone to kill someone. What?"
"Anyone could kill...as long as they have a motive," I said. Everyone looked at me. I nodded to Zane. "I am a former police officer. Although murder cases were indeed something quite rare that I encountered when I was still in active duty, it happens. But what I learned about killing is, anyone could do it as long as they have a motive to do so."
Blu raised his hand holding his father's cellphone. "Did what my parents say in this video could be accepted as motive to murder them?" He asked me.
