(GILBERT)
"Is he your lover?"
I stopped munching peanuts when Lydia asked that question. After spending the whole afternoon together, walking around the resort, checking our souvenir shops, eating Tagaytay delicasies and having a scrumptous dinner together while talking nonstop, my sister and I found a little bar to sit down and get some drinks.
Lydia is seven years younger than me. When Zane Akage tracked and cornered me eight years ago, Lydia was just twenty years old. She was just on her way to college (missing two years of school because of our financial burden), in ponytails and still doesn't know what career she wanted to pursue that's why she took general subjects to study.
But now, Lydia is in the banking industry. She's a senior teller with a promising career ahead of her. She is taking her masteral degree in finance and she wants to be a bank executive someday.
"You gave me direction, Kuya." Lydia smiled at me. "When you left to work abroad, your boss helped us in my studies and that gave me inspiration to go into banking. It clicked in my head. If my brother will work for a man who owns an international bank, I should go into banking to help my brother."
"Lydia..." I stared at my sister. Aside from being a career woman, she has changed physically as well. She is not a girl anymore...she bloomed into a confident and wise lady.
That's why she is asking...
"What's the deal with you and your boss?" She asked while a soft lounge music was playing in the bar. "I feel a certain current between you two when we met in the lobby. It has been bugging my mind this whole time..."
"And you took the whole afternoon before asking about it. I see..." I picked my beer to take a sip.
Lydia shrugged. "I have a lot of questions. And I asked the important stuffs first while we are looking for souvenirs for Mama. Like why your calls were so seldom. Why you don't take any vacations to come home to us. Or why do you live with your boss? Are you okay in the States? Have you met any celebrity there...like any members of the Avengers movie."
I chuckled. "That's your major concern, right? That I am meeting famous people in the States."
"Well, if you see Chris Evans...can you kidnap him for me?" Lydia batted her eyelashes on me.
"No," I threw some peanuts at her. Lydia laughed. I smiled at her.
Then she turned serious. "Really Kuya, what's the deal with you and Mr.Akage. Is he your lover?"
I sighed, "I miss it so much. You calling me Kuya." I said. I never knew how much until that moment when I saw Lydia running towards me in that resort's lobby.
Lydia frowned. "You sucks at stalling." She said boredly. "Just answer the question, please..."
I stared at my sister, "I am not gay, Lydia." I said.
Lydia nodded, "I know that. But have you seen your boss? He is H-O-T, Kuya. It's like a crime to be near him and not want THAT. I just had my period but I felt like my uterus started ovulating when he looks at me with those sexy dark piercing eyes..." my sister sighed dreamily.
"Oh my God," I cringed for her. "What the hell...? You are my baby sister. I forbid you to speak like that and think of inappropriate ovulating...what?!"
