(ROBIN)
We settled on watching an animated movie about a father and son clownfish living on an anemone, who got separated. Blu and I both saw it before but we decided it was the safe choice.
"I don't like action filled or horror movie with too many gory details. I don't like blood." Blu said while we are settling on the floor by the foot of the bed, our backs against the bedframe with tray of nachos and sides between us. We opted to skip the soda or any other sugar filled drinks, instead we decided to pair the nachos with water.
"You don't like blood?" I frowned at that. Momentarily taking my eyes off from the TV. Papa Clownfish just met the weird Dory, a blue fish, who suffers from short term memory loss.
Blu nodded. He gave me a quick glance. "You hate dark rooms with no way out. I hate seeing too much blood and hearing loud booming noises."
Hate which means he is scared of those
things. Blu is telling me about that things that scares him."Booming sounds...like thunder?" I guessed.
Blu nodded again. "Thunder. Tires suddenly exploding. A loud gun shot. I don't like those things. I usually plug my ears or cover them with my hands while I pray for the loud noises to cease." He said before taking a sip of water from his bottle.
"I see..." I stared at the TV again. Not sure if I will find it comforting to know that like me, Blu has his phobias as well. Or if I will be sad that Blu gets scared like me.
In the end, I settled for the simple. "I guess you are also weird like me."
I flinched when something hit my face. Blu threw a nacho chip at me. "I am not weird. You are not weird. So something can scare us, so what? Even Superman has a weakness. Even your Uncle is scared of something...or someone..."
"Don't start thinking about them." I said with a wince at Blu. "Let Uncle and Gilbert be. I am actually glad that Uncle is not messaging me. It means they still must be busy or..."
"Oh you stop!" Blu pouted as he turned his eyes on the TV. "They are just talking. Mr.Akage and Mr.Gilbert are two adults who are probably sitting down and tackling the issues like mature people..."
I grinned at his optimism. "You never walk in your parents having sex, right?"
Blu gasped. "Of course I never..."
"Tsk tsk...poor little Blu. You really lived a boring life, didn't you? I bet the most exciting thing that happened to you was when you start living with us..."
"No," Blu's eyes flashed cold. "I only live in the penthouse because I lost my parents. If giving up living in the penthouse with you all means I will get my parents back...then I won't even pack my things. I will leave with my parents even if I only got the clothes on my back..."
I grimaced inwardly. "You are right. Sorry. That was...insensitive..."
Blu sighed. "But you do have a point. My life before was indeed boring. But I was happy that way. I was safe that way..."
"You are safe with us," I said, a bit affronted.
"Mr.Gilbert is throwing things at your Uncle. Including a gun and one whole chicken," Blu pointed out.
"Okay...fair point..."
"But that's not what's worrying me. I worry about what Mr.Akage did for Mr.Gilbert to go off like that. Aren't you a bit curious about the reason why they are squabbling?" Blu frowned at me.
