Robin and I didn't complain when Mr.Gilbert made a point to pick our clothes for today's dinner. Tonight we are meeting Mr.Gilbert's family whom landed here in Manila from their home province in the South. Samar.

Mr.Gilbert's family will join us here in the penthouse for dinner. It will be catered as Mr.Akage explicitly prohibited Mr.Gilbert from "slaving" in the kitchen for this dinner. "Make the desert, sure. I know your family will love your rum soaked trifle but don't cook anything else. Let's call for cater," was Mr.Akage's decision.

Mr.Gilbert sighed in gratitude. I saw in his face the relief that he won't be tired when he greet his family tonight. That's a clear point for Mr.Akage, he really cares for Mr.Gilbert.

That's why Robin and I didn't make a fuss when Mr.Gilbert is dressing us in semi formal shirts and dinner jackets. We need to look presentable when we meet Mr.Gilbert's family. And polite. And respectful. Accomodating too. It's the least we can do for the hard working person who takes care of us everyday.

Well, I am confident that I can do polite and respectful. I am just no sure about being accomodating.

"I am shy," I told Mr.Gilbert while he was helping me put on my dinner jacket. A nice pastel pink colored dinner jacket over my pristine white shirt. I must remember not to spill anything on my clothes tonight.

To compliment my clothes, Robin is wearing a light grey shirt and a vibrant mossy colored jacket. The green and pink jackets will be seated side by side in tonight's dinner. So yeah, we have to compliment each other's clothing. See the differences in us but not to be too glaring.

"You don't need to be shy with my family, Blu." Mr.Gilbert said while pinning a leaf brooch on my jacket as an accesory. "In truth, their status are closer to yours than the Akages will ever be. Like you, me and my family are simple commoners as well. Unlike them Akages who are blue bloods," Mr.Gilbert winked at me.

I smiled at his reassuring tone. "I just want your family to like me." I said.

"They will like you," Mr.Gilbert replied in confidence. "You are a likeable boy, Blu. You are bright and polite, what's not to like? Have more confidence on yourself."

"He is just fishing for compliments," Robin drawled from the side. He was done with dressing up and just primping his well styled hair. "Blu just like people praising him that's why he do this shy act all the time."

I glowered at him. "Not true,"

Robin frowned at me. "It's true. Because the alternative is just sad. It's either you are narcissistic enough to try fishing for compliments or you are a total loser who has ground level self esteem. If I were you I will choose the former,"

I look at Mr.Gilbert. "I have ground level self esteem and a crippling shyness. I am antisocial and an introvert."

"And that's good. We have enough overly confident men in this house. We need more introverts here," Mr.Gilbert laughed.

I smiled at his obvious happiness. It won't be hidden to anyone that Mr.Gilbert is practically vibrating with excitement at the thought of welcoming his family here in the penthouse. He must missed his family a lot.

"It's only my mother and sister. And my sister's boyfriend," Mr.Gilbert explained to us this afternoon. "But I haven't seen them in person for years now so...I am pretty excited for this dinner."
