(ROBIN)
Blu is ghosting me. Not answering my text, not taking my call. I don't think he is even reading my online messages.
Fuck!
And I am losing thousands of pesos in blackjack.
Double Fuck!
It's not about the money, it's the fact that I hate that I cannot concentrate on this game because my mind is occupied by...
"Batman and Spiderman," I told Tim, Gabe and Sander. I am with three of the most senior members of our swimming team. We gathered to play card games and drink beer. Yes, Tim and I are both seventeen but I think between the four of us, we can handle Tim once he got drunk.
Except for tonight, Tim is actually the one counting the amount of beer he is consuming. Not me. I wonder if this is my third or fourth bottle.
Sander eyed me carefully. "Batman and Spiderman? Why are you thinking about that?"
"Don't ask," Tim, frowning at the cards on his hands, shook his head. "Don't make Robin explain "Batman and Spiderman", I heard about them before and I might commit suicide here if I hear it again." He threw that threat ever casually while weighing his chances of winning this round.
"That bad?" Gabe winced before giving me a suspicious look. "Did you agree to meet us for cards and beer because you have a problem?"
"No," I scowled at them. "I agreed because Blu is having a sleepover stay with his bestfriend and left me alone with Uncle and our butler. I left the penthouse to give them time alone together."
Tim gave me a confused look. "Why would you give them alone time together?"
I shot him a tired look. "Because they need to act all lovey dovey without an annoying teenager with them..."
"Oh, your Uncle and your butler...I see." Tim nodded like it finally all made sense to him now.
"Great decision on your part. I once caught my Dad and Mom having sex...I don't recommend it." Gabe mumbled.
"Is that why you asked for a condo of your own?" Sander asked our captain. Gabe is living on a condo with one of his cousin. The said cousin is staying at someone tonight so the condo was freed for Gabe to invite us for cards and beer.
"No," Gabe shook his head. "I asked for independence because Dad's work pushed him to travel almost every weekend and Mom likes traveling with him. She is writer, you all know that..."
"I don't know that," I volunteered a contrary to his statement.
Gabe sighed at me. "Well, she is a writer. Having to look after me at home stifled my parents' desire to travel together for Dad's work and Mom finding inspirations to write. So I told them I will move out and oive togethet with an older cousin, they can travel for week's end and Kingdom come so I ended up with my cousin here and meet my parents every two weeks for dinner and catching up. My allowance, they wire it to me on time, everytime and Mom calls me every two days. She wants to do it everyday but she got this mind that I would hate it if she will "mother me to death". Her words, not mine...but she is right. Mothering me to death won't be good for the both of us."
Wow.
"My mother "mothers me to death"," Tim said. "And I love it."
