The few days leading up to Christmas were relatively quiet. You and Blaise spent your time playing chess; gobbstones, cards, charades and we even took turns reading to each other.
It was lovely to spend time with him. He taught me all about antiques and even showed me some of the collections he had with him at school. I didn't understand a lot of what he said but he was so happy when he was explaining it so I was happy to sit and listen.
Of course you wrote to Draco everyday. You were sitting at breakfast when his owl came swooping in delivering another letter which you tore open to read:
My dearest Evee,
I hope you are enjoying your holidays. I am glad Blaise is good company for you. You really are too nice spending your holidays there so he won't be alone. I do miss you though and wish you were here with me.
So far it has been rather boring here. Teddy is my only source of entertainment. He is absolutely petted on his grandmother, my aunt Andi. She dotes on him. Mother too. He is keeping them both well entertained while I am at school.
Obviously my father has no idea that my aunt lives here. No one actually knows. It does my mother good to have company around the house. Although after Christmas Andi is taking Teddy to Ireland for a few months to meet some of Ted Tonks' family. Teddy's family.
My mother was planning on going too but dad's new rules are forbidding her from travelling.
I am heading to see my father tomorrow. I am very nervous to see what he wants from me. I hate that he still has so much control over us. We thought when he went inside that we wouldn't have to deal with him again but here we are. Just like we always have been...at his mercy.
I miss you my darling and I can't wait to see you when I get back. Enjoy your Christmas my love. I will write to you tomorrow when I am back from Azkaban.
I love you.
Always and forever
Draco

Christmas Eve we decided to sit by the fire and relax. The elves had made us mulled wine and left out a selection of mined pies. We were the only two left in our dorms. Everyone else had left to go home.
"Does it feel weird? Not going home?" Blaise after a while of silence.
"What home? My family are all gone. My parents death is still being investigated and for some reason their will is being held off until it is finalised, meaning the manor is not mine and I shouldn't enter it. So for now...I am homeless."
"You will never be homeless. I do not plan to ever go back to my mother's house. When I leave here I will be buying a house of my own and you are always welcome to live with me. You are like the sister I never had I would be honoured to have you live with me sis. And you know Draco is crazy about you and would do anything for you. I am sure he already has ideas about what kind of house you two will have."
You lean over and hug him. "Thank you Blaise. What would I do without you?"
"Oh you will get by just fine. It is me who needs you. You always pull me out of the holes I dig myself in."
"Ha-ha isn't that what sisters do?"
"So you know you always have a home with me. Someone has to keep me sane."
"What about Pansy?"
"Well I don't know what she will be planning after school. I mean it would be great I suppose if she moved in too but I don't want to just assume. She may have her own dreams she wants to follow."
