It was a beautiful but very early morning in the middle of August. You had left everyone at home to head with Jonathan to The Ministry to visit with Kingsley. Draco had not woken up and he looked too peaceful to disturb so you left him a note explaining you would be back soon.
Jonathan was waiting at the gates for you as you headed down the driveway. "Good morning, my little sidekick," he smiled as he handed you a takeaway cup of coffee.
"Oh thank you," you croaked taking the coffee and gulping down a large sip.
"So are you ready to head off. It is 7.45am now and Kingsley will already be in his office so you can chat before everyone else arrives.
"Sounds good. Thank you for agreeing to take me."
"Aw it is my pleasure. " He takes your hand and turns on the spot arriving at an apparition point on the street by the Ministry building. You decide to take the visitor's entrance rather than taking the staff entrance, which, unless Harry was pulling your leg, involved a toilet.
You open the telephone box door and watch as Jonathan lifts the receiver and dials the right number before speaking and introducing himself to the operator and receiving a visitors badge for me.
The telephone box then began to sink into the floor and reemerged in to entrance hall within the ministry. It was deathly quiet as you slipped out of the box and followed after Jonathan.
"So am I allowed to know why you wanted to see Kinsgley?"
"Well, asked to speak with him as I wanted a bit of advice. About working."
"Working? Evee, sweetheart you have inherited a fortune. Your father was probably the richest wizard in England. The business you have is booming and Narcissa tells me that you have branched out further into ladies fashion. You do not need to work."
"I know but I want to. I want to do some good in the wizarding world. I plan to have children and a family some day and I want them to know that I wasn't just a trust fund baby but a hard worker."
"Well that is admirable." He smiles at you as you enter the lift. Closing the door behind you the lift abruptly takes off and speeds backwards before shooting up.
"I am just unsure of what I should be doing. I do not think of myself as having many skills."
"Oh my dear you have many skills. You underestimate yourself."
"Well I am still clueless."
"Well you have come to the right place." The lift comes to a stop and the doors open. Jonathan steps out and you follow. You are now standing in a long hallway with dark green shiny tiles on the floor, walls and ceiling.
You follow again as he leads you down the hallway towards the centre, which opens up with two desks in the middle of the floor and a large golden door behind.
"He is already in his office and expecting you; I need to head off and get ready for a team debriefing this morning. Will you be alright?"
"Of course Jay. Thank you again. Will I see you at dinner tonight?"
"You will certainly. See you later Evee," he leans down and kisses your head before hurrying off the way he came.
You take a deep breath and step towards The Minister for Magic's office door. You knock loudly using a large golden knocker. The door flings open and you step inside.
Kinsgley is standing with his back to you looking out the window as the quill on his desk is moving on it's own, writing a memo. You watch as the memo signs itself and the proceeds to fold itself up and zoom out of the office and down the hallway.
